La Marina Foods

I came across this store on social media so I decided to give it a visit. It is situated inside a safe and secure business park. Upon entering, t try i the right, there is a seated eating area available that serves meals and drinks. To the left is the fridges with the frozen seafood & other meat products. There is a range of cheeses and other goods available. On the shelves are various products such as pasta, flours oils, sauces, nuts, etc. from various cuisines. The store does caters for bulk buying as some of the items are sold in larger quantities. A clean, neat and tidy store with friendly staff.

They sell superb quality fish here but they can't cook it. I had overcooked calamari smothered in a sauce I couldn't identify and my 'Asian slaw' was quite literally a dozen lettuce leaves drizzled in a thick soya sauce. My husband's hake and chips were ok. Disappointing but I did buy some fish fillets which I look forward to cooking myself.

Finally made it to La Marina Foods. I had heard about them before. I needed prawns. I called ahead of time, they set some aside for me to collect the following day. Picked up the prawns and some filleted kingklip, spices and other deli products. The only challenge for me is the trip there. It’s in an industrial park some distance from me.

We had a delicious lunch at the little canteen. The sushi was beautifully prepared and fresh. The seafood soup was fabulous! Highly recommended for a quick informal breakfast or lunch

Excellent seafood deli with a nice small restaurant and good variety of imported stuff.

This is a hidden Gem! The staff were great and the food was fantastic! Looking for Seafood that's fresh and great value, this is the place to go!

Deli with some hard to find ingredients and excellent sushi!

I needed to find something very specific, and it was no problem. Staff very very helpful. Thank you. Also, it doesn't smell of which is great.

Gone a bit more expensive then reasonable. But i dont mind spending all my money here for quality. Their range is gone a bit down... but i know they will pick up. Staff friendly as always. Just my happy place.

Definitely the best place I've found for seafood in Johannesburg. Amazing selection not only on the seafood but everything else. Really great selection of deli meats and cheese. The coffee was great too!
