Leadwood Bush Camps

I’m not sure there’s a glamping spot in the same league as this one within 100km from home - luxurious finishes, amazing setting in a big five reserve. There’s nothing like sleeping in a high-end hotel quality bed, in a tent whilst the lions are roaring outside the camp. Getting back to your camp from the game drive and the lanterns, the braai, the wood fired hot tub - all already lit by super friendly, helpful staff are an excellent touch. The guide is very knowledgeable, great game vehicle as well. Sunsets are next level. And the private shower overlooking the bush might just be the best part. Thanks Leadwood Safari Camp for an unbelievable weekend!

Absolute bliss! What a wonderful and calming experience. Clean and private. If you want to break away and relax a bit this is the African experience I would recommend! Stayed for two nights. Percy and Jo the staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms: The tent is spacious and warm. The bed was comfortable.

A Fantastic bush experience! The tented camp is situated in the heart of Dinokeng Nature Reserve, which is home to Africa's Big 5. Wonderful facilities are available with great accommodation and recreational area. The tents are beautiful with the added bonus of keeping out bugs. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and appreciated the friendly service and assistance from the local staff. We also enjoyed the very informative game drive and got to see much of the wild life that Dinokeng has to offer. Great getaway, great experience...highly recommended!

We had the most incredible stay at Leadwood Safari Camp. Bringing 2 small children over from the U.S. for a safari experience seemed a little daunting but Leadwood far exceeded our expectations. It was a fantastic place to expose our children to the bush for the first time. We had the whole camp to ourselves and were so well cared for by the local staff. The game drives were fantastic - exposing us to so much of the beautiful animals in the Dinokeng Game Reserve. The tent experience was idyllic - everything was clean and so well thought out. Perhaps the best part was having a hot outdoor shower while watching the sun set over the bush. Highly recommend if you are looking for a true, authentic safari experience, even with toddlers in tow!.

This was our 4th trip to Africa staying in a variety of luxury accommodations. We had never considered staying in a tent in the middle of the bush surrounded by the Big 5 critters until we discovered Leadwood Safari Camp. I must confess that safety was a major concern until we arrived and saw the state of art electric fence that surrounds camp without obstructing the view. The safari tents were impeccable and the beds were amazing. My wife is very picky about cleanliness and was pleased. Taking a hot shower looking into the bush is a highlight at Leadwood Safari Camp. The entire camp was all ours because they only take 1 group or couple at a time. The morning coffee game drives and sunset drives BYOB were fabulous. The owners and staff are all about their guest’s experience. 2 final suggestions would be to book in advance and not to book if you are the type of person that needs constant resort type activity. I would put this experience at the top of our Africa travels. This place will not be forgotten as it awakened our senses & connected us with the bush. Mark and Katherine USA

This is a wonderful luxury tented camp, which uses teepee style tents. It is self catering and you get the whole camp to yourself. Each tent has their own toilet and shower close by. The kitchen and lounge area is open air under a stretch awning to protect you from rain. There is a swimming pool to cool off in. The whole camp is very clean and well run. Game drives can be booked at an additional charge per person.

Very accomodating and friendly staff And all this only an hours drive from JHB
