I aim to provide quality education for children who learn differently
Learning Kat Remedial Teaching offers private or small group remedial classes in the Cape Town Southern Suburbs,as well as training and workshops for schools and parents on a range of topics, including differentiation of tasks and worksheets, behaviour management and more.
I have over 15 years' experience of working with a wide range of learning and physical difficulties in both the UK and South Africa and am experienced in teaching children from Grade 3 upward, but can work with younger children too.
I focus mainly on literacy and numeracy skills but am also able to work with students who have ADHD, ASD, co-ordination and emotional difficulties.
I cater to Home Schooled pupils as well as to pupils for after school lessons. Lessons take place at my home, where I have access to a wide range of resources.
I will carry out some basic standardised assessments on all my pupils in order to gauge their strengths and areas of weakness. These tests will be redone at regular intervals to track progression of the pupils.
I also offer workshops for parents where regular remedial lessons are not an option or where parents would like to do more at home.
Workshops and staff training on working with learners with Special Needs are also available for schools.
