Lebombo Border Komatipoort

Slowest services I have received from a south African boarder. It was slow on departure and it was worse on arrival. Spent over 3 hours queuing to get my passport stamped, while it took less than 10 minutes in the mozambican border to get it stamped on departure. There were stampedes and pushing around it wasn’t a pleasant experience at all

This border, remains a reflection of African mentality. It is filthy, do not arrive with a full bladder. However and especially over the busy periods, take adequate and some more ice cold if not frozen refreshments and a bucket load of patience! Good luck, once you pass border control, Mozambique is a beautiful holiday destination.

I was really pressed with the service and efficiency at the South African border. It would be nice if the government departments in South Africa took some tips from their colleagues at the border.

They speak Portugal language as if they dont know other languages... You speak alone if not not speaking Portuguese

Both Governments, South African and Mozambican should do some clean up get rid of the runners they turn the border unsafe and cause delays

Going into Mozambique is tricky business. Immigration and law enforcement always want to get money out of you. So bring your covid certificate with you, otherwise they'll swindle you out of money. If you're driving a private vehicle, bring with you the relevant vehicle documents, ownership or finance documents. Mozambican Immigration still has a lot of room for improvement. They are part of the problems with so much corruption

Very very long queue at Lebombo border! Is there something going on? We are afraid it can take up to 2 hours to stamp the passaport. Mozambican side all was well. We stayed 2 minutes in the queue!

Mozambique side, all counters were open for service, yet SA side...only 3 people to service us. Waited in queue on SA side for 45 minutes

With the right timing you can be through within 30 minutes. The new software tech makes the process quicker with less paperwork. The toilets are available but no toiletpaper.
