Longbeach Medical Services

I am a 58 year old male living in Fish Hoek. Since Thursday last week I have had quite severe chest pains. I believe it to be muscular and it has improved slightly with rest. But I still wanted to confirm a whether I had some kind of cardiac incident, and b if I was at risk of one. So I went into the Longbeach Medical Centre to book an appointment. Funds are tight so I asked if it were possible to see a doctor and settle the bill next week, when I get paid. I was called into the office where after confirming my details I was told that the issue with the request is that I had paid late in 2019. I was so taken aback by that statement that I didn’t even query the amount, but I think it was for a small shortfall. What upset and disappointed me is that this is the first incident that is considered - not the fact that my whole family has been there since and ALWAYS paid on the day. It was an insult to my loyalty almost 13 years and left me feeling this was more of a business than a health care service. So, I thanked the ladies and said to leave it, that I will come back next week when I have money. I said my goodbyes and left with a firm conviction that Longbeach Medical will never see my money again.

I highly recommend Longbeach medical centre, the doctors are competent, caring and professional. The receptionists are wonderful and always so helpful and accommodating. So happy to have found them.

I was 38 weeks pregnant with a sprained wrist & splint on. In absolute agony, the receptionists multiple of them refused to let me leave until they checked if I owed anything. I insisted my medical funds were not used up. I've been coming there for 7/8 YEARS and NEVER had an issue with my medical funds or ever had an account outstanding. It was just really unkind and nasty to make me stand there while they let others go without checking their accounts. Telling others "It's fine we will check and if there is anything owing we will call you or email you" WTH! while I am standing there ready to give birth basically!! the same courtesy couldn't be afforded to me as well??? Just really unpleasant, malicious individuals at the front desk who have no bedside manner whatsoever.

I have been going to this medical practice since about 1998 and even though I have moved out of the valley I won't go anywhere else. Recently I had Dr Jemmett deal with a troublesome sebaceous cyst behind my ear. Without going into all the details, let's just say that he did a superb job of removing it. It was in a very sensitive area and normally a plastic surgeon would need to attend to it and it would have cost thousands of rand. He is a caring and skilled doctor. I highly recommend him.

Excellent service from Dr. Jemmett - kind, thorough and professional.

Having moved to the deep south in Sep last year I wasn't sure where to find a good Dr as we hadn't needed to, so I was extremely grateful that a Dr agreed to see my daughter after 3pm in the week despite being fully booked. My child was in pain, needed antibiotics and Dr Witney was a star. Decent rates, great people & 5 mins from home. Highly recommended.

Dr Greg Jemmett is a wonderful and caring Doctor. The practice is well run and friendly. My family has also seen Dr Whitney and Dr Hall. A friendly and comforting space when you are not feeling your best!

I highly recommend the team at Longbeach Medical Centre. Dr. Blaise Witney spotted a slight anomaly in my cardio test when I came in for a medical aid exam and as a precautionary measure immediately referred me to a cardiologist. After further examination, I had an angioplasty procedure done 2 weeks later. I had not paid attention to the pain and discomfort I was feeling, and had put it down to work stress. Had I not been referred, the chances are quite good that I would have at best suffered a heart attack by now. My sincere gratitude.

Exceptional standard of professional and caring service from Dr Hall, and from the reception staff. I could not hope for a better experience as I have been treated as an individual who matters, who will be listened to and reassured. Thank you.

I've been going to Long Beach Medical Center for the last 5 years they've helped with general medical issues as well as managing various chronic conditions. Doctor Whitney really helped me manage my asthma. I live in Mowbray but I am willing to drive for the level of care I receive in Noordhoek.
