I am a student at Loutzavia and joined the most recent fly away. I can’t explain what a great trip and experience it was! Extremely professional and amazing service. Instructors are very experienced and helpful in every way, the planning and effort that they put into the students flight training is like no other. I would DEFINITELY recommend this flight school to anybody interested or inquiring about flight schools. Definitely going to be at many other fly always and events with this great family. It’s definitely a unique experience and a journey that I will remember for a lifetime. Following my dream, walking into Loutzavia flight school for the first time knowing absolutely nothing, to becoming a SE/IFR Commercial pilot!!  My experience at Loutzavia was nothing but great and fruitful. From day one, I was met with a high standardisation of training, well maintained aircraft, punctual operations and patient instructors. The resources they provided me laid a strong foundation to my aviation career and made me a better pilot. 3 months ago I had the humbling opportunity to test with Oom Jannie I then understood the importance of professional training.  I'm so grateful I had the opportunity to attend in my opinion one of the best flight schools in Gauteng and work with some of the best in aviation. Thank you LOUTZAVIA!!

When I first joined Loutzavia, I had no idea that a flight school could have such a community feel about it. I joined to complete my hour building and ME IR CPL and was well supported by the fantastic staff and instructors throughout my training. The CPL ground school that I attended was informative and set me up well to complete my exams. These evening ground schools are a really good place to meet fellow students and aviation enthusiasts, many of which have become good friends of mine. From the start, my instructors were professional and always available to assist me in my training. The quality of instruction and the facilities briefing rooms and simulator is of the highest standard. The school operates Cessna 172s and Piper Cherokees as basic trainers as well as a Cessna 177 and a Tecnam P2006T, complex single and multi engine trainer respectively. Theses aircraft are in great condition and are thoroughly maintained.  Above all, Loutzavia never compromises on safety. Regular safety information evenings continue to instil a culture of safety minded aviators. After these sessions the school gets together socially to braai, further enhancing the community bond withIn Loutzavia.  I’d like to thank all the instructors that guided my training. And I especially enjoyed my test with Oom Jannie.  All in all i would highly recommend Loutzavia to all who dream of taking to the skies

Joined Loutzavia to continue my training for an IF CPL in 2021.  They have a wide variety of aircraft to train on. They also have their own simulator for night and IF rating. Instructors are the best in South Africa and go above and beyond to help their students.  Would recommend this flight school to anyone who wishes start their flying journey or to continue on.

I am currently a student at Loutzavia, Wonderboom Airport, where I recently obtained my Multi Engine Commercial Pilots License including Instrument Rating.  Whether it was a briefing session or a session in an aeroplane, I always experienced my training to be of the highest standard and professionalism, yet Loutzavia always found a way to make it an enjoyable experience. My instructors were of the highest standard. They always displayed comprehensive knowledge on all subjects and aspects of the work we covered. Furthermore they were eager to share intimate details of the experience they have accumulated over decades and always went the extra mile in assisting with challenges that I may have experienced, this assured my growth and improvement as I started my career and journey in the aviation industry Loutzavia is the home base of a multitude of aircraft, which allows all students to choose the correct type of aircraft in accordance with his/ her goals and preferences. I did my in flight training and hour building on the Cessna C172’s, and always felt safe in the aircraft due to the high standards Loutzavia sets when it comes to maintenance and upkeep of their aircrafts. My favourite airplane at Loutzavia must be the Technam P2006T, it’s a multi engine airplane, which proved challenging to master at first, but I loved every second of the privilege that was bestowed on me and something I will never forget. Loutzavia as a leading flight academy also has a simulator with the option to change between single engine or multi engine aeroplanes. The simulator is a great advantage for any flight academy as it allows a safe environment to practise some of the more challenging aspects of flying, like what to do during an inflight emergency and how to cope with equipment failure while flying. Safety has always been a priority for me in my aviation journey, Loutzavia was able to emphasize and provide in this vital aspect through continuous safety evenings. These safety evenings always were very informative and students always left these evenings having learned something new.  Loutzavia knows that flying is not just a business or a career, but it is the building of a community and family so on conclusion of every safety evening there is a fantastic braai where you can eat hot dogs and catch up with your fellow students and other pilots. Loutzavia is a phenomenal flight school prioritizing safety and its students. I can truly recommend Loutzavia to anyone looking to become a pilot or to further their career.

The past fly away to Plettenberg bay was an unbelievable experience,with the idea of hour building it was a great luxury to take part.Having the chance to do coast flying and landing on a grass runway in Cape st francis.Could not have asked for a better form of hour building!

Before you start flying have one thing in mind, quality. I looked around to the extreme at different schools around Pretoria and Johannesburg. Price, aircraft availability, location, facilities, instructors and structure of operations. I eventually chose Loutzavia and I haven’t looked back. They breed pilots not just people who have pilots licences. There is a very big difference between those two types of people which you will find out very quickly once you start your flying career at Loutzavia.

I started my training in Loutzavia December 2020 and currently I am a proud holder of a Commercial Pilots Licence, Multi Engine,Instrument Rating..all of this achieved through one of the best Instruction in the airport,very high standard,quality,safe,professional training in South Africa.Every lesson was done to the utmost perfection,precision,patience and passion..and I loved each and every step towards my Commercial.,My flying experience with the school was nothing short of fantastic..the well maintained,diverse fleet, made training even more fun..huge fan of the twin and the C182RG....It was always going to be hard for me to leave my family in Botswana  to pursue my dream of flying in South Africa  but the love and care I got from the Loutzavia family,made my stay so enjoyable and definately unforgetable..ohh and I have made plenty of friends. A huge big Thanks & hugs to Uncle Jannie,the Loutzavia Management,the Instructors,the staff for paving such a wonderful environment where safety is key and family orientation is more important.,gonna miss the Safety evenings and the lekaar braais...see you soon though I would most definately recommend any aspiring Pilot to join the family

I had such an awesome experience completing my PPL at Loutzavia, everybody there was always so friendly and made me feel like I’m at home. It was such an honour to fly with my instructor Corne van Aardt who was my instructor for the magority of my training, and Julia Henning who instructed me on my navs. Thank you to everyone at Loutzavia!
