Lucy's hair salon

I moved to South Ockendon 6 months ago and needed a new regular hair dressers, Lucy's have been brilliant to me always fitting me in last minute. The staff are so lovely and professional, they always offer a hot drink and biscuit. Definitely premium treatment for a great price. Will remain my regular

I love this salon. Staff are brilliant . Best ever you are made to feel welcome and comfortable. I enjoy my trip to Lucy's immensely. To put the icing on the cake they are the best stylists ever. Visit and you will never go anywhere else.

I have been to this salon before and thought this was going to be new place to go, I love the atmosphere in there, it's a beautiful salon. I went earlier this year, and hadn't been able to get my hair cut due to lockdown, so I was really looking forward to it. The shampoo girls were great, I had such a nice time I almost fell asleep! When it came to my hair cut, the lady didn't really chat much with me, she just started cutting my hair, I said how much I wanted off and all of a sudden my hair cut was done!? So I asked if I could have my layers trimmed because my hair it pretty thick. She cut them, we agreed on rough drying it, and then that was it. She didn't show me the back of my hair, it looked okay so I was happy, I suspected they would be very busy after lockdown, so I paid and left. I got home and my partner noticed that the back and once side was really uneven. I went back to get it fixed and the lady apologized and trimmed it a bit more. I checked it from what I could see she showed me the back with a mirror this time it looked okay so I thanked her and left. When I got home I took some photos of the back noticed it was still not great I wasn't happy with it. I got an appointment at different salon to have it fixed, it was about 2 inches shorter on one side!! I had to have it cut really short to even it out. I was gutted!! It's been about 7 months since this experience and I've only just got my hair back to a decent length. I still can't believe this happened.

This is by far the best Hair dressers I have been to. I feel amazing, my new haircut is exactly what I wanted at a great price. The inside is so up market it adds so much to the experience. The ladies there are all smiling and the atmosphere makes you want to stay all day. If you haven't been I suggest you give it a go, you will not be disappointed

Lovely salon, friendly staff, very happy with my hair cut. My daughters hair cut is also done well and her hairdresser took the time to give her a couple of braids too, which she is thrilled with. Will definitely visit again.

I am a really nervous person when it comes to having my hair cut. I felt totally relaxed and at ease as soon as I entered the shop. Such lovely ladies and love my hair. Thank you so much.

I first went to Lucy’s to have my hair cut quite short following my wedding; Carly cut my hair and done an amazing job. I’ve got naturally frizzy hair and so Carly recommended a Brazilian Blowdry. I came back for the treatment a couple of weeks later; I was in the salon for a couple of hours in total. I was told not to, ideally, wash my hair for 7 days and if I got it wet to ensure I straightened it as soon as possible. This was challenging given it’s been the wettest week for a while but I made sure I followed the rules. I was advised if I wanted to put it up for bed I could tie it up loosely in a low ponytail and then to straighten out any kinks in the morning. Lastly I was told to wash my hair with Sulphate free shampoo which I got hold of quite easily from Boots. So, I gave in and washed my hair on day 6 I had somewhere to be and it was mega greasy!! using the sulphate free shampoo. Everything was just as before whilst washing it and then when it came to blow drying it - OH MY GOD!!! - at this point I was pretty sure Carly May have given me a hair transplant whilst I was in the salon!!! My hair was the smoothest and straightest it had ever been after just a rough blow dry. Bearing in mind I didn’t use a styling brush whilst blow drying or any product, it was literally a rough dry. I’m astounded - for anyone who has ever lived with frizzy, thick hair that has to be styled to within an inch of its life after washing because it’s just a big fuzzy mess you need to get this treatment done. Don’t get me wrong I still have to run the straighteners over my hair after blow drying but that’s literally all it is, a quick run through. It’s more than halved the time it used to take me to straighten my hair. My only advice would be to make sure you follow the tips given by the salon and go in with realistic expectations. This treatment doesn’t mean you never have to straighten your hair again; it means you will dramatically cut down the need for straightening you hair. If it was a miracle cure for frizzy hair then it wouldn’t be priced at the price it is!! I also went in with my 10 year old and she was given a last minute wash and trim - she was treated like royalty. Everyone was very kind to her and made her feel at home.
