Master of the High Court, Cape Town

They do not answer the phones. Been calling daily for the past 4 months. Do not respond to emails. Finally got an email response from someone attending to my query. It was a pleasant and quick response to my query. Why did it have to take this long to receive an update on a matter that would take 5 min had the phones been answered. Surely emails and phone calls can shorten the qs and the time wasted by all. Please your service needs to be upgraded. Thank you

Slow service and only open until 1 daily. Had to wait in line outside the building as they are still on ND level 3 or 4 by the looks of it. Quite a number of securities at the door that account for 100% of the noise in the waiting area as they don't have much to do except talk loudly. Preferential treatment given to some by security staff - they walk straight in, chat to security and get given the go ahead whilst others have to wait in line. Heard many complaints in line that people don't recieve notifications, obtain the correct documents they needed and requested and have to come back multiple times because of that.

Shocking service. The client facing personnel are generally incompetent, surly, arrogant and rude! How did they get their jobs - surely they should have at least some basic interpersonal skills and work at least until 4pm - given the massive backlog! They don't even answer their phones. I'd fire the lot of them if they worked for me - they are a huge embarrassment to SA. This department's poor service delivery negatively and directly impacts the economy of the whole Western Cape! It's time for the WC government to fix this major bottleneck !

We waited quite some time but they have staff walking the queue and if you have all your docs it goes quickly. Within a week we got our letter

I went there for the fiŕst time and got there at 14h00. Security told me i am late and must come back the next day, as they closed at 13h00 already, as it was pasted on the outside wall, whereas on the website it shows they close at 16h00 as that is a Government dept, he was not helpful and very rude because while I'm speaking to him, he ignored me and chat to someone else. I told him i just have a query but he showed me how he locked the door in our faces. He referred other people who came after us to the side entrance and that is where I slipped in. Even inside there,his colleagues tried to give me a hard time after one of the staff members of the dept assisted me and told me to go to first floor but they did not want to let me go and told me it's closed but the staff member of the department told them to let me go up. So yes even though I was helped I feel the security must be trained how to treat clients as human beings because that is what they expect from us or anyone visiting your offices. I even called your head office while standing outside to enquire your business times as it was easy for him to tell me to come back the next day not knowing my circumstances etc. I hope something get done about this.

Phones are disconnected or go unanswered. Staff members are surly, incompetent and unhelpful. I didn't think Home Affairs could be challenged as the champion of incompetence but this office is a contender.

Found it okay.. surprised and happy that I didn't spend whole day there. The staff was very helpful and explained when we had queries.

Very disappointing service - over 11 months no phones answered, only 2 e-mails response with incorrect information then the person does not exist and e-mail is "unsent' unknown e-mail address. It's an uncomplicated deceased estate dragged out over all this time

Everything they told me I needed was things they did not have on the website and are things they could have told me over the phone but they never pick up the phone ever. The lines do love faster then any other Gov department and the people are nice but this is far from the service a tax payer deserves eventhough it's better than every other departments.
