I have never been to a more impressive resort than Mateya. The lodge and rooms are elegant. The food and wine cellar are only surpassed by the incredible service. The safari experience was unbelievable and exceeded all expectations. Our guide Francois and tracker Tom were so professional, knowledgeable and easy to be with. The only problem I could foresee with Mateya is I can never return for another Safari trip and not stay at Mateya. They have set the bar too high for others. Kevin
Awesome lodge, staff, food and everything else. Can't expect any better. Quiet and serene. Staff and quality of service is excellent. Come here for a more private safari with only lodges they go out of their way to cover every possible detail.
This was a first class experience, from great bush safaris where we saw every animal possible, to include lion kills, cheetah and giraffes of all sizes. Ranger Devine and tracker Paul were exceptionally adept; Master Cook Cuxton prepared terrific meals and even accomodated special teenager requests; Cornelius and Efraim gave terrific service. Our rooms were immaculate, with top rate bedding, fireplaces, and even baboon entertainment in the back yard. Great massages from Judith and lastly, Werner and Cristine were terrific hosts. Highly recommend.
Simply the best. There is NO better place to go on a luxury safari. From the accommodation, public spaces and food to the guides, trackers and staff, everything is first class all the way.
