Mellowood Furniture Design produces exquisite custom made sleeper wood and hardwood furniture of the very highest quality. Our UPHOLSTERY section is now open, for newly built furniture or to simply update your existing stuff. We also create kitchens of the highest standard – solid & semi-solid wood, sleeper wood, rustic, melamine and veneers. We offer a FREE design service, using design software, so you can see your kitchen in 3D before it’s started.
All of our work is designed in-house and built on-site using the best quality hardwoods such as sleeper wood, beech, kiaat, beech, cherry, rosewood, saligna, meranti, ironwood (ysterhout), walnut, oak, oregon pine, msasa, mahogany, blackwood, Rhodesian teak, ebony etc. Based in the bustling town of Bela Bela, Limpopo, we are really close to Gauteng, enabling easy client visits, and furniture deliveries. Our collection is characterised by tactile hardwood textures, specialist character nguni ottomanwoods, and subtle features combined with either glass or metal or skins.
We produce our furniture to order, everything is handmade in our workshops. Put your stamp on your home, with custom designed furniture.
Traditionally high-design and high-quality have meant high price. That’s because everyone (importers, distributors, landlords, salespeople, etc.) between you and the designer takes a cut, forcing huge markups . We looked at this process and decided to start over.
Mellowood Furniture Design removes the middlemen and connects our designers and craftsmen directly with you. As a result, our prices are much lower than typical retail.

Visit our Showroom
Customers are always welcome to pop into the showroom for some inspiration or to discuss ideas. You will find us in the Bosveld Pick n Pay Centre, Potgieter Street, Bela Bela, Limpopo. Bring in your ideas, plans or pictures of the piece you require, or simply them. We will draw up a plan for you to sign off when approved. We deliver to Gauteng and Limpopo, and can ship world-wide.
Ordering your Furniture
When you place an order we will give you an indication of the lead time, it is usually 8-10 weeks from the point of order.
