At quote stage, it's all sunshine and rainbows. Tables turn at claim stage - they make sure your claim takes even longer ‍ I have a minor damage and they told me it will take about 4 weeks to get everything done. Not to mention that the excess amount was paid in full. You don't get things done "My Way" but definitely "Their Absurd Way"
Your reps calling to offer products are pathetic. I can't hear what they are saying, and the guy clearly doesn't care, doesn't respond to my request to speak up or slower or clearer. I used to be with you guys so i would always be happy to hear you out, but this experience has changed that. If you'd like to check the call recording it was now at 11:50 am from a guy. Probably not enough to go on, but it was enough for me to block your numbers. Weak efforts even though the products are pretty decent. Sort out your call centre. Not happy at all! I cancelled my insurance policy 3 months ago but am still getting random and inflated debit orders sometimes twice a month? I called and spoke to one of the managers but still nong has changed? I must now speak to my attorney, this is criminality! I get monthly debit orders of R12500 but my policy premiums were only for R750? This is negatively affecting my bank account and budgets..no professionalism at all!
Worst nightmare after 8 years without claims, using shady service providers like Senior Motors Accident Repairs. Might have as well taken my car to be repaired under the tree from someone's car boot. Nice paying premiums but absolutely the opposite when it comes to claims. C1680785.
I was reversed into, I had to ask Miway if they wanted the guilty parties details to recover the R4700 excess I now have to pay plus claim damages?? I SERIOUSLY couldn’t afford this and had to take a 50th loan when I’m already drowning in debt and this was not my fault!! How were they planning on doing that without that or am I just expected to pay?? Last year my daughter drove into my gate and they wanted R9000 excess plus their panel beater quoted R15k to repair! I then just did it myself for R9000 at a REPUTABLE panel beater where the damages were much worse and I had my car back within a week! Now they have declined my mirror that was damaged in this accident saying it wasn’t from then. I emailed them an additional photo showing how my mirror was practically in this woman’s bakkie and nobody bothered to respond! Not to mention that my car has been at the panel beater for two weeks now and I have absolutely NO transport!! Yet last year the damages were much worse and I had my car back within a week! I asked the panel beater to please check the bonnet because it is skew and I have just had it repaired and my tyre looks skew as well meaning the wheel he responded saying that if Miway walks in there and sees the state of my tyres they will deny my claim!? Deny it for smooth tyres? How did that cause someone to reverse into me?? If I didn’t pay this premium every month plus huge excess then I could afford new tyres!!!!
My niece used to be insured here and never have an insurance company been so useless. She claimed for an accident not her fault, the car was parked in the yard and the incompetence was astounding. I have also been relentlessly harassed by their marketing department after specifically requesting not to be contacted ever again. I have received six calls since yesterday! I have asked nicely, I have used rather explicit language, and I have ignored their calls. The next step will be to lay an official complaint of harassment.
I've always heard horror stories when it came to insurance and when it's time to claim. I took up insurance just because I had to, but with MiWay my experience was nothing short of exceptional! From the time I had my accident right up to pay out, the service was fast efficient and really great. I had all but given up on the idea of customer service, but you guys did an excellent job with my case. The team obviously works hard and I'd like to thank everyone who had assisted me with my claim.
Myway is one of the worst insurance companies. Uses the worst service providers, don’t easily approve original parts without a fight despite those substandard parts they want the service provider to fit in your car not being available. Their assessors are the beginning and the end. They will leave you and not respond to your queries despite numerous calls and email. Even supervisors/ managers will make you believe they are attending to your query and never come back to you despite numerous attempts to try and reach out. The don’t want to take any responsibility for the delays despite taking long to approve parts. My worst nightmare. This is what it takes to be a client in this country, they take your mainly religiously so and when you need assistance your a nuisance.
Hello Peter reviews really fooled me into joining this insurance company, had an accident on the 16th of January to date the work on my car has not started and the car hire is expiring and they are so pro active in sending emails about termination, no communication whatsoever on anything, the additional repairs quote has been with them for 2 weeks now and each time I check I am told they will follow up and get to me, we'll that's a lie because they never do oh and you are not allocated an adviser each time it's someone different. I am still waiting for someone to call me since yesterday, customer service is non existent.
Do not, I repeat do not use Miway. I agree with the comments below they are happy to take your premium but when its time to pay out its issue after issue. Also if you drive a Porsche and want to repair your car at Porsche. Mi Way is not on Porsche debtors list. So you will need to pay out of pocket first then wait A VERY LONG TIME for mi way to refund you. JUST stay away. It took 4 weeks just to process a claim- yet to review the money.
