Here is some information on joining the UFS Momentum Adventure and Climbing Club.
Membership fees for 2017:

Adults (Non-UFS students) : R 350

You can bring your application form, proof of payment, a copy of ID, copy of student card and copy of medical aid to the climbing wall and hand it to an Executive Committee Member during official club climbing times (Tuesday and Thursday at 5pm) with all required documents stapled together.
You do not need any rock climbing (or related) experience to become a member.
All training for the purposes of climbing at the climbing wall will be provided by Momentum's “Wall supervisors“ during official club climbing times).
Assessments will be done on all members that want to climb without supervision at the climbing wall. Your assessment level will determine the degree to which you’ll be allowed to climb without supervision.
Momentum has its own climbing gear that can be used by all members. So you do not need any gear other than a pair of rock climbing shoes to start out with.
Any prospective members will be allowed to climb for free at the climbing wall (under supervision of “Wall supervisors“) up to a maximum of 3 times, after which an amount of R30 per day will be charged. So it is to your own benefit to join Momentum as soon as possible.
New members’ details will be added into the database, membership list and mailing list.
Momentum from time to time arranges climbing & hiking trips. Members will be notified of trips, via email.
