Monty's spitbraai & catering

Monty’s did the catering for our wedding & our guests really loved the food. We did the lamb spit which comes with potatoes & garlic bread. Then also added two deluxe salads. Everything was amazing. Working with their team was also so easy from beginning to end. Super professional & friendly service. I didn’t have to worry about a thing. They easily worked around the fact that we were doing the reception in our garden & therefore had minimal setup space. We also rented plates & cutlery which they cleared, packed away & took back with them which made clean up so much easier. I can highly recommend Monty’s for your next event. They really know what they’re doing.

I had Monty’s at Mojo market this weekend. Firstly I had to wait 30 minutes for a beef rib basket. Just one rack of ribs and chips. When I finally received my food, took one bite into it and the ribs were rotten. Smelled like a sewer. I was absolutely disgusted. Never trying this place again. Not worth the price either.

Purchased food from the Montys stand at Mojo Market. I had the burger and also ordered the loaded wedges. The burger was perfectly cooked medium and juicy. The loaded wedges and onion rings also spot on.

I ordered a catered braai for my partner's 40th birthday celebrations in Camps Bay. Being from JHB, I relied just on reviews when choosing a service provider, and boy, I was not disappointed. Monty's exceeded all expectations and then some. I ordered for 12 people but the amount of food that arrived could have easily fed 30. Everything was absolutely delicious, from the chicken to the chops to the salads. The famous pumpkin bake was also a favourite. Delivery was right on time, and service was friendly with a smile. Thank you Athol and team!

Overpriced. Went for the Lamb spit plate but the lamb wasn’t ready, a spit braai caterer that can’t have its food on time… only ready at 3pm at a lunch food market ‍. Had the braai plate. One small lamb chop and half a piece of boerwors for R150. Tasted average.

Thank you to Monty’s for an excellent spitbraai on Saturday 25th August. We had 37 guests invited for a family and friends reception at our home. Jake & Teach were very efficient and delivered a veritable feast of note. The meat was succulent and tender served with yummy roast potatoes and lovely roast vegetables. Our guests were very impressed with the high standard and good food provided. Even the gravy received a "best ever gravy" comment. We have received nothing but compliments from our guests. We have no hesitation in recommending Monty’s If you're looking to appoint a spitbraai specialist. Once again a big thank you to Monty’s. ...we could not have asked for better service. ....and no fuss ..no washing up and cleaning after the event. Can't wait to do it again! !!

I was dropped by another company, and Athol sorted our group of 30 out with only two days notice. The lamb was incredible. So tasty, juicy and tender. People were still talking about it hours after the meal was over. Thank you, the service was also very professional.
