Mooi River Plaza.

One of the main toll gates along the N3. We did it several times while going from Bethlehem, Free State towards Umhlanga and Ballito at the Indic coast. The value-for-money-ratio is okay. There are in general good road conditions on the N3 from Mooi River to Durban . Alternatively roads are possible to avoid the toll gate, such as using the exit ramp 152 on the N3 southwards of Estcourt, driving on the R103, passing Mooi River towards Nottingham Road and using the ramp 132 to go on further on the N3 towards Durban. But it requires more time and ther are partly poor road conditions underway. On the hompepage of the N3 Toll Concession N3TC you will get further informations and updates concerning the traffic.

The Gent I spoke to on the phone was super friendly and efficient to organize an e tag for my car. The Lady behind the counter that served me and gave me my tag gave the impression she was doing me a favor. By the way, I contribute toward her salary every month by using this toll plaza at least 4 x per week.

They deducted way more money from my card than the actual toll. When I checked my bank statement I noticed they took R247 for a small car! ***edited to also say that after calling them and explaining what happened, they actually refunded the extra money deducted back to me, and it was all done within 3 days. They called back exactly when they said they would and handled this issue really quickly. So thanks for the excellent service

My experience with Mooi Toll Plaza, was great. It's business at a stead pace, staff work long hours but, always with a smile on their face. The most annoying thing at Mooi River Toll Plaza, is NPA Police office who gets payed for nothing.. Who are lazy bunch of cops, i've ever seen any these officer's pull over a truck where a foreign truck or south african, don't even do complete underneath suspension check and haven't ever see road worthy inspection in year's at either Mooi River weighbridge, Escourt weighbridge or Heidelberg Weight weighbridge..

Tollgate costs R58. Neat tollgate with great roads.

It is so ridiculously expensive to travel here in South Africa

Very dangerous to stop there.. been robbed at gunpoint at the plaza .. cops did nothing.. whatever you do never stop there for anything..

The N3 road is amazing and very clean. Some parts are under construction though but I enjoyed my trip

Noticed quick efficient workmanship especially and upgrading making driving a breeze.
