We are a proud division of the Magua Taekwon-Do clubs
Magua is affiliated to TSA (Taekwon-Do South Africa) and is also recognised as part of the International Taekwon-Do Federation (I.T.F)
Through the hard work and dedication of Magua Taekwon-Do founders, brothers Sabum Norman VI dan and Sabum Denis V dan, the club has gone from strength to strength over the past 13 years. Our club is well known within the Taekwon-Do community and has produced world class students throughout the years.
Trainer
Bryanston Taekwon-Do is led by Bo-Sabum Richard Girvin III dan
His commitment and passion for the art has resulted in numerous achievements over his 12 year career including representing SA at World Champs.
Bo-Sabum Richard is truly dedicated to training his students to become the best they can be, always emphasising the value and importance that Taekwon-Do serves, not only in the Dojang, but in life too.
Classes
I.T.F Taekwon-Do was founded by General Choi Hong Hi in the 1950s. It was originally developed as a military self defense-based art, with a strong sense of tradition and respect. Modern Taekwon-Do encompasses not only the traditional art but also an over-all physical fitness with emphasis on precision, technique and speed.
Classes cover a set syllabus for each belt level, from beginners to black belt, which includes patterns (set sequence of movements), traditional and competition sparring and street self-defence.
Classes start with a light warm up to get the blood flowing and cover basic fitness. Each class covers different aspects of the syllabus, keeping it innovative and different.
Students train and work towards their next belt level at their own individual pace and gradings/testing is done once students have learnt and fully understand their current syllabus. Bo-Sabum Richard will move students forward when he feels confident in their ability and skill.
Grading’s give students something to work towards and a great sense of achievement.
Bryanston TKD caters for adult classes (ages 13 and up).

Taekwon-Do has a multitude of health benefits – both physically and mentally and regular classes promote a healthy body, mind and spirit.
Classes are fun and energetic and students will see a marked improvement in physical fitness, co-ordination and self-confidence.
