LOVE YOUR KIDS AS JESUS LOVES YOU.
Mission
The primary mission of Nako Yaka Programme is to foster public policies, human-service reforms and community supports that more effectively meet the needs of today’s vulnerable children and families. In pursuit of this goal, the Programme makes grants that help rural communities and neighbourhoods fashion more innovative, cost-effective responses to these needs.
Vision
Kids and poor families are heard and considered as human beings.
Our Approach
Providing Strategic Consulting
In an effort to make lasting and measurable reforms in public human service systems, Nako Yaka Programme provides intensive, strategic management support to leaders of public systems who are working to create fundamental change.
Transforming Neighbourhoods
Building on Nako Yaka’s history of system and community change investments in multiple communities and neighbourhoods, we seek to demonstrate that improving the quality of the places in which our most vulnerable children and families live can make measurable and sustained improvements in their ability to survive and thrive.
Strengthening Families
We work to advance the premise that improving future opportunities for vulnerable children requires helping parents to secure the resources, connections, and skills they need to support, nurture, and provide for them today.
Building Economic Success
By investing in new models, best practices, evaluation, and policy research, Nako Yaka’s goal is to promote specific strategies that enable parents to get jobs and advance in the workforce, increase their income, and build and protect a base of assets sufficient to secure a better future for their families.
Using Data and Evaluation
We gather and promote the use of data as a critical tool for change. We also routinely seek and support independent evaluation of our initiatives to ensure that our investments are yielding real results.
Ensuring Racial and Ethnic Equity
We support research, promote understanding, and share data around issues of disparity that continue to result in opportunity and achievement gaps in low-income communities of colour and ethnic diversity

Positive relationships: Children who are bonded to parents, friends and adult role models who help them maintain healthy beliefs and high standards.
In the demonstration phase, Road to Success is supporting one village’s efforts to improve young people’s well-being within a few communities and public systems. To support the village’s work, Road to Success includes:
Child and youth well-being surveys that will identify children’s strengths and needs, and the underlying factors influencing their development;
a financing tool kit that will be used to map current investments and identify strategies for generating or securing sustainable sources of funding; and
Coaching and technical assistance to support strategy development will help partners to build their capacity to adapt and to sustain new ways of working.
Road to Success is based on more than 01 year of research and statistics about the underlying causes that prevent problems and protect children from risks.
