Nupsaw Trade Union where the workers are first
Nupsaw is a trade union whose purpose is to promote and protect the interests of its members in their places of work.
Nupsaw represents members in connection with any matter relating to their employment, for example:
Grievance Proceedings on injury on duty, promotions and discrimination;
Disciplinary Proceedings: Bargaining Councils CCMA and Labour Court proceedings on unfair dismissal, nepotism, favouratism etc.
Through its participation in bargaining structures Nupsaw negotiates for and on behalf of its members for improvements in salaries and working conditions.
OUR MISSION IS:
To create structures and infrastructures to serve the best interests of members.
To use these structures to defend, at all times, the job security of members and to use all resources at our disposal to fight unfair dismissals, retrenchments, redeployment and other mechanisms used by employers that could affect job security.
To ensure a culture of democratic decision making and accountability at all levels.
To eradicate all forms of oppression, exploitation and discrimination for workers.
To ensure a living and just wage for all workers.
To ensure that all conditions of service such as hours of work, leave, pension, home owners’ allowance and other benefits are in the best interest of members.
To provide the best and most competitive funeral benefits, medical aid, loan schemes and discount benefits for members.
To create an organisational structure free of racism, tribalism, ethnicism, sexism, gender, disability and class discrimination.
To promote unity among workers and the working class irrespective of political party affiliations.
To fight political injustice, corruption and nepotism at all levels and to ensure the proper distribution of social and economic resources in a just, equitable and humane manner.

FREE INDEMNITY COVER
Nupsaw also covers its health professionals against medical malpractice.
The union does not condone any form of negligence while a member is treating a patient, but it does recognise that human errors occur through no deliberate fault of a health professional and that this may lead to litigation which may run into millions of rands.
Nupsaw is therefore paying from its resources the premiums to a reputable insurance company at no extra costs to the members.
The cover is for R10 Million per incident where a member is sued for negligence while performing his or her work in good faith.
FREE FUNERAL COVER
Free funeral cover for up to R5000 for a member, spouse and children.
LICENSE FEE IMBURSED
30% up to a maximum of R150 re-imbursement of the license fee paid by nurses and other professionals to their respective councils.
