New Lantern Roadhouse Welkom

Service was great except the waitress seemed impatient. Not in a bad mood but she was hasty to clear out the table and bring the bill before we were ready. Atmosphere was wonderful. Meal portions were huge! Definitely get value for your money. The chicken was dry. Sauce was so flavorful. Mushrooms in Dagwood seemed boiled, not fried and bland. Great spot for dates, group meals and family meals. No inside seating which can be exactly what you want, depending on the occasion. Loved the experience.

Yummy. Be brave and eat the garlic chips. Then go in hiding for a day or 2. Worth it! No fake sauce. Really goodFood: 5/5

Welkom isn't my home town, although I try to always experience what the town has to offer, and for the 1st time I visited the New lantern roadhouse for their famous Dagwood. Trust me when I say this, it's worth going back for... Succulent, tasteful, everything is just to standard. Keep up the taste guys, and you'll have of me coming back

I bought chicken and chips , the chilly on the chicken was nice but the chicken was too dry , that I and my family couldn't finish it, why should we pay such expensive bills for bad foodRecommended dishesDagwood De Lux

Great burger and fries. The 1 liter chocolate double think milkshake was good but too much for me to finish.

The food was okay at best and okay service. It would help if staff switched to English when they realise their customer cannot speak English. My husband does not speak Sesotho and waitress did not switch to English even though it was blatantly clear that hubby could not speak English. Not all black people should be forced to speak Sesotho. Also, the tomatoes in my dagwood were cut too thick and were not as fresh as I normally get at other places. Otherwise, the atmosphere is always great for me. I love the scene and seating arrangements. Parking: You park next to your eating table as with all roadhouses.

Part of the Welkom eating experience, Lantern roadhouse has been around for a very long time. Huge portions and the best double thick milkshakes in the state ! Service is friendly and fast - still a roadhouse in the best sense of the word. My burger and chips went down too smoothly for a pic

Great burgers, and a 1lt milkshake for those brave enough. Burgers taste good, would definitely go back
