Ocean Basket Pavillion

My waiter Mbali was so sweet and absolutely phenomenal in her sevice, etiquette and mannerism in the way she speaks and liaises with customers. She's knowledgable about product and offering ans specials and was such a delight. 5 star rating although the portion sizes are too huge lol. Keep up the great work. Faaiza HussainFood: 5/5

NOT ONLY WAS THE SERVICE POOR but the quality of all the food served was extremely appalling, to the point where my family and i had severe food poisoning. the salmon sushi which we ordered was a pale colour it was as if no effort was put into making the sushi. The oysters that we ordered were cloudy and had an odour. i ordered the salmon platter for one and my sister ordered salmon favorites. the salmon in the rainbow rolls were a pale pink as if it had been lying out in the open for days, both of these platters were utterly disgusting in both presentation and taste to the point where my entire family have been suffering with diarrhea and vomiting ever since eating at Ocean Basket Pavilion on Friday the 13th January 2023. It is so disappointing to think for such a renowned place that the conduct of the staff as well as the quality of the food served is of such an egregious manner. The bill came to a cost of over R700 and for that price any human would expect a reasonable plate of food but this is not the case at Ocean Basket Pavilion.

The quality of this established has dropped substantially. Current waiters are inattentive and clearly not adequately trained. Starters arrived cold. Mains were hot and quality of fish was great but the meal was under seasoned. Managers sit near patrons discussing issue the customers should not hear. They also make no effort to go around the store to check if customers are okay. You could taste that the quality of food products was fresh but the execution was poor and not to the standard that they were before. A change of management would do a lot of good. I would probably visit here again because of my previous positive experiences but if I received the same service as my last visit I would never visit this branch again.

I've had meals at this Ocean Basket at the Pavillion Mall on numerous occasions. Good consistent freshly prepared food. The tempura fried baby marrow was outstanding. I requested stir fried veg with my meal; everything was really good.

We really enjoyed Mandisa's bubbly personality and wonderful service. The meal was impeccable, the only thing missing was some music. Ushaka, where we went on Monday, had Goa radio, loved itFood: 5/5

Firstly, when I walked in no waiter approach to be seated.i approach the waiter,it was table for one.I guess because I am alone.I sat with the menu on my table for 20mins..no waiter approach to take my orde and then left..what terrible service.never again.Service: 1/5

It was was my first time eating at Ocean Basket. Service was good and i really enjoyed my food i am not a fan of fish - but my mind may have been changed today : Had the crusted Kingklip with rice and chips. It was an all round good experience. Kids and family were happy. Not a fan of the tables and chairs thou and was a bit hot sitting upstairs.

We order take away from the Pavilion branch at least twice a month and we order the same thing every time and we have never been disappointed. This time we ordered as they opened so we were the only customer the same mussels we do every time but decided to try the Saucy Mediterranean Prawns. What a disappointment. The mussels was 1 short in a "new" type of container that hold half the amount of sauce. The normal prawns we ordered had lots more sauce than the so called saucy prawns and the sauce was nowhere close to the colour on the pictures so dont even know if we got the right prawns. No rolls included as indicated on the website. I know everyone can have an off day which is understandable but what is frustrating is buying 1 thing and getting something else. I did take a photo as proof but there is no option on this page to upload.

Mandisa is a lovely waitress and the service was great. The food was delicious and we finished absolutely everything!Food: 5/5
