Outlook Lodge Lakefield

We stayed at Outlook Lodge years ago when it was in a different location prior to the new ownership so we didn't know what to expect. The current location feels very secure and very private, with a gate and fenced grounds. Plenty of room to lounge on premises, which is well-maintained. There is a shopping center and some restaurants accessible by a short walk .7 mi or just over a km where we had a great meal and a couple drinks. The rooms are adequate but nothing fancy. Everything worked and the showers were hot. The air-conditioning unit in our room rattled but we turned it off as the temperature was perfect. The beds were spring mattresses, so not very soft or super comfortable. But, we slept fine in them! Breakfast was one of the best things. It was wonderful and delicious! And hospitality at the facility was above par! The staff was very kind, personable, and accommodating. It felt like staying with friends to us. We ordered transportation so they arranged everything and had a driver waiting for us at the airport, which isn't too far away. Feeling safe and cared for in JBerg made it very nice for us. For the price, I think it was a wonderful value.

Rooms are very old - windows in my room were old & the closing latch was broken, aircon weak, & TV/Multi media box didn't really work well because of the slow WiFi. WiFi very slow with weak signal. Juice @ meals is the horrible, cheap cordial type. Overall - food is decent. Service is great! Garden is beautiful!Rooms: 1/5

The kitchen staf were so sweet but we ate the same breakfast for the 7 days we were there. I was supprised to be told that linen is not changed for the duration of the stay. I found that repalsive and totally un hygenic. Also most of my group could not watch tv's in their rooms. It was disgusting. The garden was wowRooms: 1/5

Lodge is very much clean and serene.The environment is inviting as well as their beautiful garden.The rooms are neat par excellence.Oh the staff very friendly and helpful to all visitors.Their breakfast was excellent compliments to the chef.

That breakfast was exceptional..... but the rooms were horrible ,the air conditioners were not working and the TV was not working. They didn't have bathing soaps, the security is horrible. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Plumbing needs a lot of maintenance because we were woked up by vibrating pipes every morning. The Wi-Fi is horrible very slow. there's no proper reception office as well

I have just stayed there for 2 nights.I was hesitant when I read the reviews.There was no problem at all.Staff were helpful and friendly,place was clean,lovely breakfast on both mornings and a tasty dinner as well.It was great as I could download my DSTV onto their TV and the whole place had no problem with load shedding,their generator worked right through it all.Would definitely recommend it for business and if you have day tours planned,as there is not much to do in and around the lodge.Most enjoyable and would stay there again.

First off I must say that is was very cost effective. The place looked clean on arrival. Was a bit of a wait at reception as no one was at front desk. The check in was simple and a smooth process. The room was pretty standard, as was the price. Room looked clean and also the bathroom. It has all the basics. Kettle, coffee, tea. TV had no channels available and the air conditioning was not working properly at all. The bedding looked clean and I also checked the place with a UV light to see hidden body fluids and didn't seem to find any. The bathroom was clean, the shower floor had some mould and the bathroom roof. The next morning, breakfast was OK. Simple and to the point. Futher then that the stay was was good with no issues.

Attended El Shammah Christian church service at the lodge. 4th Birthday of the assembly.

Had a lovely stay here. Place was very clean and I really enjoyed the breakfast. The staff were also very very helpful. The place has good space between amenities giving it a bit of a luxury feel with the design they've chosen. For the amount I paid I was really impressed that I got such a good deal on the rooms. The rooms are also clean and cozy. Shower was great along with the toiletries provided. I just had an issue with the aircon in my room which didn't seem to function but besides that I still choose to give them 5 out of 5 for my great experience. I am definitely going to return here again!

Stayed for one night in December as I had a long stop over between flights. I was contacted before my stay and told there would be someone to meet me at the airport and take me to the lodge which was really helpful especially after a long flight. The lodge was clean and well maintained and the rooms had all the basic amenities, TV, tea and coffee making facilities and soaps and shampoo etc in the bathroom. I had a nice meal at the restaurant on site and all the staff were very polite and friendly. I had an early flight out the next day and the manager arranged a ride for me as well as packing a huge breakfast bag for me to take on my travels which was very much appreciated. Overall a great stay with friendly and helpful staff.
