Pamela Jean Wright Winstanley SACAP T0485, SAIAT 320707
Pamela Jean Wright Winstanley is an architectural technologist with more than 20 years industry experience. She has a National T3 Diploma in Architecture from Witwatersrand Technikon and a studious background in architectural design, draughtsmanship, building services, construction technology, construction science, practical building studies and office organisation.
Pam began her career as a junior draughtsperson with a structural engineering company and was promoted to senior level within 6 months, and was promoted to contracts coordinator soon thereafter.
Pam was responsible for factory liaison on all levels, including delivery of schedules and reports on installation and advanced site requirements. She also managed internal empowerment training, NOSA 5 Star Safety, COD contracts, invoicing and debt collecting. Pam was finally promoted to Sales Executive and this versatile position incorporated intensive client liaison around structural and technical enquiries and site procurement.
In 2000 Pam joined Just Slabs (Pty) Ltd as a contracts manager to help the company strategise and implement leaner and smoother systems. She continued to produce technical drawings, material schedules and bills of quantities.
At Just Slabs Pam successfully implemented an onsite sub-contractor installation programme and received the Directors Award before leaving to start her own architectural studio on 2002.
From early on in her career Pam has always believed that one of the greatest challenges facing the industry is non-compliance with fast changing building regulations. In fact, Pam reckons that 90% of properties that she visits do not comply with regulations.
Pamela Jean Architectural Studio was born partly in response to this important issue and continues to address compliance as a significant challenge in the industry.
