We had to urgently travel to South Africa and decided to book a family room at this place for 1 night until our usual Guesthouse became available. The price was similar and I expected a similar experience, clean, friendly staff, looked aftet rooms. After confirming our booking via WhatsApp the only way the hosy will accept bookings, we arrived to the owner being hostile and arguing that I never confirmed our trio, I took our conversation and email as confirmation and explained this, needless to say, the host was cold and took long to warm up to us. This already made me feel uneasy but with no other plans, we decided to stay, only being in the room to shower and sleep. The room was very outdated, bordering dirty with the bathroom towels smelling dusty and the bedding smelling of someone elses body scent, not to mention the single bed was visiblely dipping in severely. The hosy claims no one ever told her this, it was clear to see and staff surely would have noticed this when dressing the bed. For R150 more at anothet guesthouse, we got a bright, clean, modern, beautiful, TRUE family room with breakfast in a secured area fitted with generator for the notorious load shedding, something this guesthouse does not cater for. I wouldn't recommend this guesthouse to anyone sadly. I noticed a for sale sign outside the property and perhaps this is a sign of how the host is struggling with her guesthouse? Good value for money. Cottage style setting with lovely English gardens. Comfortable beds and rooms. Very friendly and accommodating hosts. Breakfast included.
