Police Station

I may loose some popularity on this post lol but I have to give a thumbs up for the Barberton police department. There’s been a few occasions in the past when I had to call them for some forgotten reasons but I do remember the officers who responded to my calls were not only professional and nonjudgmental but they also were very helpful and pleasant. Though I had positive experiences with them I’ve also heard countless tails of them abusing their power, but I guess all police departments get an even balance of both positive and negative reviews. Thank you Barberton Police for protecting our neighborhoods. *Edited Post today on 9/11/22.* Since I wrote this review, something happened on Labor Day Weekend that gave me a completely new found appreciation for the Barberton Police Department. On the Friday over the holiday weekend. I had just gotten off work at 11:00 pm from by JR Engineering,I walk to and from work since I literally live only two blocks away, a co-worker and myself were walking down 6th St. NW, we were at the intersection of 6th & Tusc., across the street from the VFW. We were going separate directions from there so we were standing on the sidewalk at the intersection talking when all of a sudden we heard a lot of yelling and screaming coming from a block down the street at 7th NW & Tusc. From the little local bar there at that intersection, then a car with one head light came racing up Tusc. towards us, they were flying and when the car got close to us they swerved towards us intentionally to hit us, the driver of the car then slammed on its breaks, turned back around and raced back towards the bar, there was a crowd of about 15 people there in front of the building, the car jumped the curb and attempted to smash into the crowd, thank God nobody was hit, the driver of this car drove down the street and spun around to come back towards the people again. I had called 911 right after the driver tried to run us over and as the car was turning around to come back towards the bar and peoples a Barberton Police Car was on the scene, the police officer took immediate action by ramming the car and pinning it so the driver couldn’t drive off, all of a sudden from what seems like nowhere there was about 5 more police cars and all of the officers present ordered the driver at gun point to slowly come out of the car, well as soon as the driver started to exit she was on the ground, the driver was a woman, one who had a chip on her shoulder, she is racist to say the least, as she was pinned to the ground she was yelling about killing white people. My point is this, regarding the Barberton Police Department. These police officers gained complete control of the situation and of the crowd of scared and panic stricken people who almost just got badly injured or even killed a few moments prior. The police were a calming presence, you could see the trauma in the peoples faces but it felt safe as soon as the police arrived. This was a traumatic experience for all of us there. I thank the Barberton Police for the extreme professionalism that they demonstrated that night. Thank you.

I'm sure it's like any other town city. You have a good ones and you have bad ones. And you have ones that tell the truth the ones that lie. Then you have ones that don't even know what the laws are/ ordinance. I was told there was no problem here that they didn't see a problem with parking in the grass side yard and being out in the road underneath a fire lane parking sign and nope didn't see a problem with it. And don't get me started about fireworks in the 4th of July.

Rude employees. Had to call to try and get some of my property out of a house where it was being held hostage, and was initially told my roommate could pick it up, but when they got there the cops wouldnt let them take any of my stuff, only their things. Upon calling the police back, officer Richardson said our only action was to file a civil claim, and that no cops were going to help us get our property, even though they had helped my roommates get their stuff not 5 minutes earlier. The officer then threatened my wife, saying if either of us go over there, we would be arrested on the spot. Great employee of the crew, officer richardson. You sure have a great reflection for the rest of the force. I gave 2 stars because at least a few officers did help my roommates with their stuff, but the same cop flip flopped like a fish on land when it came to mine.

I appreciate everything that the Barberton Police Department has done for me and my family over the years, but what needs to change in MY expierence is not what the police/department charges someone with but what happens BEFORE and AFTER that ticket thru there WORDS and ACTIONS with some but not all individuals.

Refused to help a pregnant teenager after being assaulted with a witness and had bruises and Mark's left after being thrown down a flight of stairs by a grown man, this entire police department should lose there jobs since they refuse to do them. Will be contacting other forms of law enforcement but all lead to barberton police since it's their jurisdiction.

A sorry little town tjat withers away because its police station does nothing to keep us safe or away from drug addicts. Along with watching my mother kill herself and do nothing about it, i am now being harrassed by a meth head and all i got was attitude from the prosecutors office.

Locked myself out of my car in Barberton and when I called the police for help they were there within minutes! Wish I asked for the cops name that helped me but he got my car open promptly and was very nice. Thanks

I had pertinent information about a murder. I contacted the dept on numerous occasions, for over a month, with not ONE phone call back.Not ONE call back. I'm at a total loss. This information was about a murder, and yet they couldn't even make a phone call? No wonder its a trash ass town.

I seen them at a shop with a cop thing at kmart, and they dress real sloppy. They all seemed to need shaved and groomed.very tacky looking cops.wear the uniform properly!!!

Big let down they make you feel like your crazy. And dont help you the way cops arent meant to.
