It’s a business that specialises in getting up front payments and drafting long legal contracts- they are not in the least bit interested in helping anyone. If I were Nikon global I would be horrified that this is how my brand is being handled. Long story short - rather buy another brand where there is actual service back-up. This company is run by folks who care only about getting paid not about actually delivering a service. You can’t avoid them if you have a Nikon product so just rather buy a Canon or anything else. 1 and a half star status on Hello Peter and that’s all you need to know. Weird that Nikon global don’t read the reviews.
Excellent service, I have all my cameras sensors cleaned every year, always fast, friendly and helpful.
Investing in a top-end camera is an expensive undertaking. But let’s be honest - Nikon is good kit. I’ve been a loyal supporter for 35 years. Because of the price of new cameras and lenses you can’t afford to replace them when things go wrong. You need to have it serviced. This is where you pick up problems. Premium Brands are the local distributers and “authorised” repair centre. I have heard many stories of Nikon Ambassadors leaving Nikon for other brands of cameras because of inferior service and support received from Premium Brands. But I took my chances and sent them my camera to have the sensor cleaned. For an authorised service centre, it's a simple job. It arrived back with scratches on the sensor. I queried this and was told “When we received the camera we opened the Shutter on mirror lock up, inspected the sensor with a loupe  noticed the marks and only did a blow with clean air. The camera was then returned in the same state.” Here’s what really happened: the technician did a hack job. It looks like he ate a bunny chow for lunch on my sensor . Instead of taking responsibility for damaging the sensor it was easier to say that he received the camera with scratches on the sensor. The camera is useless and can be written off. Am I ever going to invest in Nikon again? No. It makes no sense as sooner or later I will run the risk of someone at Premium Brands destroying my investment. If you own a Nikon and live in South Africa - you have been warned. So long Nikon. It’s time to part ways. Thank you for the memories and the great images we created together. Please understand that it’s not your fault - it’s the inferior service from Premium Brands. UPDATE: Christine marketing manager Nikon SA picked up on this post and called me. She’s sympathetic to my plight but I still let off steam. Lots of steam. I get a sense that she is aware of problems in the service department. She apologised profusely and promised to look into my issue. Half an hour later I get a call from Grant CEO Nikon SA. More steam. More apologies. Grant turns out to be a good guy. He understands the value of client retention so he leans on Lourens service department manager to help me out. The camera is returned and the sensor is replaced and cleaned. My workhorse is back on its feet again. I have no idea what happened to the renegade technician. Thank you Grant! My faith in Nikon is restored. Time to send more camera bodies for service. The parting message to me and by extension to all Nikon users is this: if you have a legitimate problem with the service department you are welcome to escalate it up the Nikon corporate ladder.
There should be an option for 0 stars. This company is a NIKON repair center. I took my pair of 10 x 42 Monarch 5 binoculars in for repairs as one of the eye caps was a bit faulty. A few weeks later they informed me that it would cost me R1400 for a new eye cap because the warranty does not cover faulty eye caps. I decided to decline the quote as I can fix it myself with a bit of glue or an elastic band. Then they charged me R250 handling fees. This is ridiculous!!! I do not see how they could justify R250 handling fees for simply providing me with a quote. No work was done on the binoculars and no inspection was necessary. Essentially they forced me to pay R250 just to get my own binoculars back.
I sent my binoculars Nikon Aculon A211 to them for repair. had double vision It was the worst experience I ever had for repairing something. First- they didn't respond to my Emails after the repair was done and I fully paid for it! I sent multiple Emails! Second- My binos still has double vision with some improvements! and they did not even clean the lens from inside!!! Third- their forms and regulations were so complicated! they sent a Word file that was locked and I was not able to fill and sign the form without printing it! too many unnecessary questions as well. I requested fully refund from them and will throw my binos into the bin. NEVER AGAIN BUY OR GIVE THEM ANYTHING TO REPAIR.
RIP-OFF!!! Nikon is clearly RUBBISH. R6000 repair because an internal Nikon component failed on a R30000 camera after only 5 years. Camera hardly used. They refuse to sell Nikon spares to any other repair people and would charge R3000 labour, giving them complete monopoly and they can chatge whatever they like. Stuff them. Stuff Nikon. Unscrupulous fkrz.
I have needed to have my Nikon lens repaired with Premium Brands as the only Nikon agents here in Cape Town. The service from them has been outstanding the whole way I have been dealing with agents Michelle Engelbrecht and Suzanne De Beer. There is regular updates on progress and they are very quick to respond to any questions. Due to the specific parts needed which are out of stock at their supplier they have given me a premium quality demo lens to use on loan at no charge for as long as needed until my own lens is repaired saving me the cost and stress of renting a lens. Can't remember when last I had the pleasure of dealing with a company of such a high standard of customer service
Great service with friendly faces. I have been dealing with them to fix my Nikon D850. The technitian has been very helpfull and patient on my job. Jonathan Mark Salzwedel is awesome. The same goes for the ladies at reception Pam and Michelle. They are allways professional helpful and patient.
Picked uo my D7100 yesterday, after trying yo get them to reply on my emails since after handing it over to them on the 7th of January. It was supposed to be cleaned and serviced as that is what I paid for. When testing the camera this morning I found that it had not been cleaned at all. In fact it is now more full of dust on the inside then when I gave it to them.
Great customer service here has always been the norm here and has set a benchmark for what I have come to expect from almost all other service providers no matter the industry.
