Protea Hotel by Marriott Mahikeng

The daunting problems my brother visiting from the USA and I faced emanted largely due to load shedding. However, they were exacerbated by poor preparation by the hotel. We were told the generator was overheating so we had no power for a couple of hours at night and then there was no water in the morning. We were left with no option than to cut our stay short and check out. Hope our refund will be processed on time.

I was shocked at they superb service, this is Mafikeng where i experience poor service at all places. We went for birthday dinner, banquet was neat, we opted the outside pool area, waitress Neo was amazing and friendly, food was awesome from the ala cart menu, overall it was awesome experience, will certainly visit again and enjoy their banquet, food strictly ala cart menu and amazing staff.

The Hotel as a whole is not that bad. Rooms: are too small and ordinary compared to other Marriott Hotels I have visited before. The staff: are the most amazing people, so friendly and welcoming. From security, reception, restaurant and house keeping. Restaurant: can use some pickup were food flavour is concerned in the adults menu. I found the fish and chicken schnitzel to taste normal. On the other hand the kids pasta was delicious. They should also get Equipments for room service. Our food almost fell on that hand tray. Housekeeping: always on time but they don't change sheets they just make the bed. Location: is a great ride when using N4. But the struggle is real around the hotel. The is potholes and the is no fine dining restaurants around, also the Mahikeng game reserve was unfound. The is no kids activities around

I went there with work, I stayed at the hotel for 5 days..The service was amazing, the rooms were always clean, stuff members are very friendly and accommodating.. Oh my God how can I forget about the amazing chefs, the food was nice and they had everything you can think of. I loved everything about the hotel, I'm definitely recommending it.
