As composers, performers, musicians and custodians of traditional knowledge, Coming from the Eastern Cape, we understand first hand the dire failings of the current education systems, and we seek to address this in new and innovative ways.
We aim to preserve, develop, promote and archive African indigenous knowledge.We do this through learning platforms such as workshops that provide training in the making of traditional instruments, basic music education, voice training, stage performance, choreography and the development of entrepreneurial skills.
The movement’s overall objective is to create a society where those least responsible for, yet most affected by, current inequalities have access to knowledge, skills and values necessary for self fulfillment and meaningful participation in society as free and whole individuals.
