Support an excellent nature reserve right in the heart of Gauteng. Easy access from the main routes and they offer a number of facilities along with some excellent game viewing. Very good picnic/ braai facility with ablutions. A tea garden with good coffee or hot chocolate on those cold mornings. Self drive and game drive vehicles. Some unique animals if you are lucky and you can be home in time for lunch if you like.
Very nice game drive. Lots of animals that includes Cheetahs, rhinos and many more. Pricing not bad for a day out with the family. Place is clean and lots of picnic spots. There is braai areas. So make sure to pack a chopVisited onWeekendWait timeUp to 10 minReservation recommendedNo
Stunning location and feels like you are escaping from the city. Really nicr picnic spots and the drive to the dam with all the animals is incredible.
A peaceful and absolute serene experience. Take a camera Your binoculars and a local bird watching guide. And when passing a small steam of water - stop and listen It’s pure beauty.Visited onWeekend
Had a nice 3 hour drive through the reserve, animals are aplenty though I missed not seeing the rhinos, place is nicely maintained though a little more effort could be made at the coffee shop, lots of potential. Amazing to have a reserve in such close proximity to the city. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Well worth a few hours of your time.
Very well looked after nature reserve, just on the edge of the suburbs of Pretoria. There is a large dam and lots of grasslands as well as some small rivers and reed beds. There are buffalo, cheetah and other wildlife to see, but it is probably the bird life that makes this place so special. With a diversity of habitats you should easily able to see at least 50 different species in a few hours if you drive to different spots. There are also several well maintained birdhides where you can sit and admire the scenery while you lookout for birds. There is also a nice restaurant/coffee-shop where you can get a light snack and refreshments and enjoy sitting out in the peaceful gardens.
Am pleading to all pretorians to make time and visit the nature reserve, some people drive from faw to come visit this place and for us it's just stone throw way. Very beautiful place to visit, peaceful, a lot of animals to see. Best place for a picnic with family and friends. I wasn't aware that we have this in pretoria.
This is such an amazing place with beautiful wildlife. The staff are friendly and professional from the gate to the reception. I didn’t have to wait long to buy the ticket, they only accept card payment which was fine by me. The Zebras love people so much they were all over the road and looking at me drive me. I reconnected with nature so much here.
It's peaceful and perfect for a trip as a family to just drive around, view the beautiful landscape and spot some animals. It was good for the soul. You forget we are in a hustle and bustle city.Visited onWeekdayWait time30–60 minReservation recommendedNo
