Russell High is a small, state owned, girls’ high school situated close to the Pietermaritzburg CBD. It has a rich history spanning over 100 years! The magnificent school building, established in 1897, has been declared a National Monument and is “home” to just over 500 girls of all races and cultures. It is a school with an open heart and creative spirit.

Attending this school shaped my life & positioned me to be successful in life. From the small classes that allowed more attention to be given to each individual to the great teachers that actually cared about us & our future. Russell High is a really great school.
I absolutely love Russell High School. It encourages growth and independence but in that everyone is so selfless. If you are facing any sort of hardships you know there will be teachers or learners that will be there to help you through it. I absolutely love the Russell family. There is never a dull day at Russell. There's always laughter and happiness.
In the years that I have been at Russell High,I've learnt that anything is possible if you put your mind to it. I absolutely love it. It encourages girls to work hard and achieve their goals.
I love this school It is organized and staff is amazing,open hearted
Parents pick up spot can be improved.... Service inside is good.
They offer the best education, very welcoming staff and good service
