Sacred Mountain Lodge

About

Sacred Mountain Lodge is nestled between the ocean & the beautiful Silvermine mountains - a most tranquil venue for a getaway, conference or wedding!

Description

Down a quiet country lane, a stone's throw from an incredible expanse of white sands and turquoise sea, embraced by magnificent mountains to its back and sides, lies the lush valley of Noordhoek, and at its heart: Sacred Mountain Lodge. This tranquil and enchanting Lodge is steeped in history, holding many secrets of the Valley's past.

Surrounded by the peaks of Table Mountain National Park on three sides and the ocean to the front, the views and sunsets across the waters are nothing short of spectacular!"

The inspiration for naming our beautiful guest house 'Sacred Mountain Lodge' came from the book 'Table Mountain to Cape Point' by Carrie Hampton, where in her 'Sacred Mountain' chapter she says; "Table Mountain is known as the most potent symbol of Africa, representing freedom in every sense of the word, and has been likened to a fortress, a sleeping goddess, a stairway to heaven, a guardian of the city, a warrior and watcher of the south, considered sacred for the living forces at work behind nature."

We invite you to come and feel the forces of nature here at the tip of Africa and enjoy our warm hospitality in the peaceful surroundings of Sacred Mountain Lodge.

We were upgraded to the Clydesdale Suite and it was wonderful! Huge main room, lovely wooden floors, comfortable king size bed, beautiful wooden table and chairs, comfy couch. A small kitchen area with all the essentials. Lovely big bathroom. We did not use the huge oval bath or the tv. The garden is wild and gorgeous with lovely little nooks and crannies. We were made to feel very welcome and place had a very relaxed and calm feel. The only thing I would give four stars rather than five would be breakfast. While the food was good and the coffee delicious it was not much for the price. Adding some fruit juice and/or fruit would improve it. Overall a lovely weekend. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to escape for a while. Nearby activities: Noordhoek Beach is fairly close and one can have long leisurely walks on it. The Farm Village is also nearby and there are three restaurants- we ate supper at Cafe Roux and I had the best salad ever! There is a wonderful Bakery and Deli which has so many many delicious choices plus wonderful coffee. Also an organic veg mart, an open green in the centre and a wonerful relaxed vibe. Should you need anything from the real world there are two shopping malls about ten minutes drive away.
We had a March wedding at this beautiful garden venue. Leading up to the wedding, Samantha was so helpful and eager to help us coordinate vendors and make sure the day ran smoothly for us. We had a lot of rain on our wedding day; Samantha was calm and reassured us that an alternative plan could be made. We ended up having our ceremony under the Bedouin tent, which was cozy and romantic and beautiful! As the bridal couple we had no stress to deal wirh on the day, we could simply enjoy ourselves. We would highly recommend Sacred Mountain Lodge as a venue for anyone wanting to get married in a garden setting summer or winter; we loved our wedding day, literally wouldn't have changed a thing! Thank you so much!
We wanted to say a very big thank you for hosting our wedding last June - for taking care of every detail, and putting together such a beautiful event - even with the challenge of having a huge storm the night before. Our guests all said what a lovely night they had, they loved the venue, the food and the vibe : And we felt so well taken care of.
We ended our stay after 1 night - very misleading, cleanliness is not a priority and your general stay will be uncomfortable. When opening the duvet, a fish moth came out of it, the cutlery and crockery were dirty, bathroom was dirty and couch was broken. We booked this place because my gran had just come out of surgery and it was so unhygienic and she got stuck in the broken couch. Spent my evening rewashing dishes and we did not order breakfast because if the rooms were in that state, I would not want to see their kitchens. It is treated as a personal residence, with big dogs bounding on you and teenagers playing rugby late at night outside your room. Samantha also won’t give you a refund. Literally stay anywhere else and save your money. Rooms: Dirty and uncomfortable. Noteworthy details: Definitely falsely advertised. Cannot recommend anyone staying here.
The wind can be vigorous in the cape, but this sheltered venue was wonderful and we barely noticed it the whole evening. Spectacular food despite being a buffet-style dinner, and exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. They made a very important night almost stress-free, because what wedding doesn't have stress, and I can not recommend them enough. Thank you to the proprietors and their ever-ready staff members for making a night to remember.
We had our wedding here on the 18th of March 2023. Samantha and the staff are absolutely amazing, they go out of their way to make sure everything runs smoothly and the food is delicious. Cannot thank them enough and would recommend them to anyone considering having a wedding here! :Rooms: 5/5
We stayed in the newly renovated cottage that used to be the guesthouse's spa which they converted. The setting of the room is beautiful but we found that the double bed mattress had a hole which made sleeping problematic as I have a back problem. The water in the shower took forever to get warm and if it did then you could scorch yourself again. Limited parking on premises too. We couldn't even watch the soccer World-Cup as you needed to use our own DSTV card if you wanted to watch TV.
Intimate outdoor wedding venue in the heart of Noordhoek with a honeymoon suite and a few rooms available for guests. We chose not to use the optional tent for oir mid summer wedding. The lush garden worked perfectly with our theme. Samantha and the team did an excellent job managing the event and suppliers. The food was excellent and most importantly we all enjoyed a very relaxed wedding with no drama on the day. It was a gusty windy day but fortunately the venue is well protected from the wind. Samantha kindly allowed us to postpone the wedding twice due to Covid. Thanks for hosting our special day.
Beautiful, restful venue. The rooms are VERY hot. Would definitely recommend a fan or something. But definitely a great place to stay a few nights.Rooms: 4/5
