Serendipity Café - River Place Lodge

Everyone here is so incredibly nice and welcoming. A friend and I came here to hike with our dogs and it was quite the hike! We loved it. The trail up the mountain was a bit steep, but so worth the view! The dogs were allowed off lead and they enjoyed running around and sniffing all the things around the trail. Definitely a place I will return to!

We had a dinner bed and breakfast deal. The accommodations could have had more privacy and better views, BUT the value for money was astounding. Good service and great food as well as a great location next to the river.

We had the most wonderful lunch at the river today. Stunning setting, excellent service and absolutely delicious food. The rooms are newly renovated and look stunning. Can highly recommend.....

What a dissapointment. Upon arrival the venue did not resemble the photos on the website. There was construction which was not communicated before hand. The food was average, our brownies were burned and dry. The restaurant setting was also under construction and the flooring where we were seated had been removed and not yet replaced which meant wobbly chairs while eating. The picture painted of wooden decks next to the river was non existant. We came for a nice quiet getaway, we could not sleep until after 12 due to a party being held with extremely loud music which we weren’t told about either. When we wanted to make coffee in the morning we only had decaf sachets in our room. The staff was amazing though, super friendly and helpful, but that unfortunately does not make up for anything else. Most definitely not worth the price or the effort of driving there.

Today ots my husband's birthday we went out for lunch with our daughter ad son. The place is so phenomenal. Thank you Andrew for hosting us. He's so humble. Elizabeth it was a pleasure meeting you. Will definitely come back for a weekend stay

Today we took our Mutts AKA Moose and Roach and their buddy Homer the Jack Russel to River Place Lodge Centurion. A lovely 4km hike over the Hennops River and up a koppie. Dogs with good recall welcome off the leash once you are on the trail. We were most impressed by the staff at this venue. Each and every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful. Beautiful stone built accommodation for those who are looking for a weekend away. Have lunch and a cocktail at the restaurant overlooking the river after your hike. The hike is on the house for those who will be having lunch after On Sundays, otherwise it is only R45 per person. Other offerings include wedding and conference facilities. A relaxing day out on the doorstep of jhb and Pretoria.

Beautiful location even though it is abit in the outskirts. Worth the drive though. Cocktails were amazing. Food ans service impeccable.Service: 5/5

It's a very quiet and beautiful place. The view of the mountains is amazing. The restaurant with the river passing is magical. It's a true hidden germ.Rooms: 5/5

A wedding venue kinda vibe. Giving it a 3star rating because the restaurant didn’t have the Tapas lunch menu choice….. which we were looking forward to indulging.

Ken and his team were phenomenal during our recent stay at River Place. The accommodation, conference facilities and meals were fantastic and the staff were incredibly helpful and so friendly and welcoming. We are definitely looking forward to our next visit!Rooms: 5/5
