Silverthorne Designs was founded by professional jewellery designer, Garth Silverthorne in early 2017.
Just as his last name suggests, jewellery designing is an inherited craft for Garth.
His love for nature’s precious stones and metals began in his youth, as he watched his father make jewellery.
This love for it inspired him to study Jewellery Design and Manufacture at the Tshwane University of Technology.
Soon after his studies, Garth started his professional career as a 3D Jewellery Designer/Modeller at the renowned Deonne le Roux Jewellers in Pretoria. He worked there for seven and a half years and designed over 1500 pieces for the company.
His work consists of multi-faceted designs that range from the classic cut rings to intricately crafted pendants. Garth is trained in the old school way of hand making jewellery as well as the contemporary ways of designing through modern technology. This means he has the ability to create beautiful pieces for anybody and everybody.
Garth prides himself on making jewellery that is innovative and progressive. He believes in the art of creating pieces that are unique and fulfilling to his client’s needs.
