We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Smithland Guest Apartments! Staying FOR FREE as Accommodation Swap Members feels very lucky indeed. Located perfectly for our needs, the apartment we stayed at was really well catered for, tastefully and comfortably decorated. I can see why there are so many well-deserved accolades on the wall in the reception area. Very well done to the team who make this place such a pleasure to visit.
Okay apartment. Value for money. Enjoyed the daily cleaning of our apartment. Quite refreshing to come back at the end of the day to an already cleaned space. Downside: we arrived on a Sunday after a very long journey travelling with cranky exhausted kids, we were disappointed to wait for about 15 minutes to have the administrator drive down to give us our key. Despite the fact that we had sent an email prior to our arrival indicating time of arrival. This put me off. We had to keep the uber driver for extra minutes incurring more bills. The first 3 nights were uncomfortable... the bedbugs had a feast on my right thigh. Never been bitten by bed bugs in my life. My kids and I have itchy bumps all over from bug bites. The sequence of this bites convince me that they are bed bugs. I had to google photos of bed bug bites to crosscheck. My thigh all round have this painful red bumps from these bites. Also, The mosquitoes didn't let us be. We eventually resorted to buying insecticide afterwhich we got some sanity. Sprayed insecticide into the mattresses and rooms. I would suggest that rooms are fumigated regularly or perhaps mattresses are sunned or treated. I am still itchy all over my body after 2 weeks. My kids too.
