It is not a matter of being happy but a cemetery. The cemetery is well cared of. The staff at the office are customer focussed. Meaning they are helpful in assisting if in doubt of the grave one seeks to locate
Clean and well kept Cemetery with a cemetery curator on site. Hoping the search for my Great Grandfather's my namesake's resting place will come to fruition one day...
Most of my family is at this cementary. In 1966 my father was the first of seven graves. Unfortunately the grave yard is really not a place of remembrance anymore. The grass is so tall you cannot even see the tombstones. You cannot even go to your family's graveside as it is so dangerous. Really please think about it no where to go and put flowers on. It is a disgrace that you pay so much for nothing.
Grounds unkept, grass rarely cut, vagrants walking around watching you, repeated vandalism, beer bottles thrown around dustbins all the time ,dustbins always full and toilets very dirty.
Helpful office staff, never felt scared at all. Obviously they have to compete with the budget.
It's not so much about a good or bad experience I had - just a warning that the cemetery does not allow you to place a full tombstone for your loved one. Only headstones are allowed.
This is an old cemetery next to the suburb of Dawn Park. This is the cemetery where Chris Hani was buried. It no longer takes new burials but only reburials, where a family member is buried on top of another. There is a Hero's Acre where heroes are buried but you need a letter from the Mayor to be classified as a hero.
My mom is laid to rest here and I couldn't be happier
The people working in the offices are so rude and cold towards you.
