We serve, protect and care for all animals. The Vereeniging & Vanderbijlpark SPCA is a member of the National Council of SPCAs (NSPCA).

Description

The Vanderbijlpark and Vereeniging SPCAs have amalgamated in July 2015 and are fully operational under a single Management Committee.

This positive step was taken at Special General Meetings. The Board of the National Council of SPCAs has expressed support for the venture. The decision was taken to maximise the use of resources and opportunities. It will be beneficial to both the SPCAs who previously operated independently: - but above all it is and will be highly advantageous to the animals in the area. The message to the public is that unity is strength and the future will be a positive one in terms of assisting animals.

The Society is now called the Vereeniging & Vanderbijlpark SPCA.

Confronting animal cruelty and promoting the welfare of all animals

The Vereeniging & Vanderbijlpark SPCA believes in the five animal freedoms:
* Freedom from thirst, hunger and malnutrition
* Freedom from discomfort
* Freedom from pain, injury or disease
* Freedom to express normal behaviour
* Freedom from fear and distress

And our wish for all wild animals is the freedom to be free.

All my experiences are only good. Very helpful and sincere. Adopted 2 x doggies at them in the last 3 months. We were greeted and helped without any issues. Today we had to unfortunately say goodbye to our Basset, as he was 15years old and very ill with cancerous growths. He was in pain. SPCA Vereeniging & Vanderbijlpark treated him with the utmost respect and dignity. I would definitely refer them to anyone for adoption, help or just plain advice.

Very compassionate people helped me with my very old and sick dog.
3 months ago, one of the inspectors came to my house saying that they received a complaint from the neighbours about my dogs not being fed properly. Behind my back, the inspector came back again and few days later my dog has gone missing. Everytime I phone, they can't tell me where is my dog.
Great hard working and professional passionate staff, my 3yr old son's 2yr old blue nose pitty male stud, very frien dly and playful nature, semi trained and obedient got out the yard in at new cottage us three moved to recently as all animals are panicky in such circumstances. Anti pitbul biased neighbors abusively forced him into confinement and called spca, hoping to get him put down as result of the peoples uneducated assumptions and pitbull reputation that far exceeds their capacities and concentrates only on their breeds, cons like its all they consist of....mmm. Called spca and went in to fetch him next morning, very helpful I filled the forms paid his board and lodging and even got a identification tag and registration number with spca if he gets out and end up back at them they phone me and notify where my beloved pup is. Me and my son greatly appreciate all the efforts and love and time these people sacrifices for the better of not only the animals but also their families. Thank you and may God bless and protect you in Jesus name amen.
