At the entrance to the Baviaans Mega Reserve in the Picturesque Gamtoos Valley, lies the village of Patensie.
At the age of 13, in 2008, Rike-Mari du Preez entered the KTV ENTREPRENEURS COMPETITION and won with a range of cutlery, beautifully decorated and sealed with resin. Her sales on the day were terrific and exceeded her wildest expectations. The small business Spoon Scrapping, was thus born. She decided she had to expand and involved her mother on the marketing side. She also started employing previously disadvantages ladies. Nowadays she employs six ladies on a permanent basis. Her markets include a small shop at home (where her father owns a nursery) Christmas Markets, shows, fairs, gift shops etc. Beautifully decorated in South Africa
