Very quiet on a Sunday evening. Only popped in for 1 drink as we were trying a few bars that night. Very pleasant bar manager.  Clean and tidy. Brilliant location opposite the pier. We need to come back on a Friday or Saturday evening to sample the proper atmosphere.

This one is difficult because it's like two different venues. I've had 5 star nights there and other times I've been in and left after 1 drink because one star would be too much.  When it works, it's great. The venue is very nicely decorated, the bar staff are efficient and the atmosphere is good, but when it's not...  The venue is small, with a low ceiling and has bands at the weekend. A good band with decent volume control can pack the place out and make a really good night, but bad bands or bands with poor volume control drive people away due to the venue layout and the proximity to other better controlled venues nearby. You walk in, get the wrong drink because the poor bar person can't hear you, realise there's only 8 people in, can't hear the vocalist because they can't turn their mic up without feedback, and you just go to the Crown and Anchor instead.  Because of the venue's size and shape it's easy for a band to exceed safe levels I'm a DJ, I have to know this stuff to avoid being sued and there have been times I've walked in there thought "long term hearing damage" and walked back out.

Lovely bar & terrace. Staff very welcoming & friendly. But.. Unreliable. Over last 6 months or so, several times closed. Intended to try food on 4/5 occasions, but not available for various reasons. We will drop in if passing but won’t make this a destination venue as not reliably open.

Great bar, great location opposite the pier but also offers sofas and TVs ,,, whilst no food available, management happy for me to order out plus provide mulled wine etc... Also does live music !! Great place, strongly recommend

Lovely position opposite the Pier entrance.Tasteful interior with lounge enviro.Screens for sports but plenty of nooks.Nice little outside area @front for people watching . Nice staff.

The emerald bar is a lovely place to go for live music something to eat or just drink Steve and Shanie always very helpful and friendly  would highly recommend  a visit

We went in on Wednesday night and obviously it was quiet;the staff were not to be faulted,the place was clean and tidy. But oh dear,where was the atmosphere?  No indication of where you were apart from a couple of barrels with'Jamesons' on them, and to cap it all festooned with the Union flag! This could have been a great refuge for people who wanted to get away from all the fuss of the next few days.If you are going to be Irish,BE IRISH!!! The 5 stars are for the staff,otherwise 2.5

Staff are very polite. Food was cooked very well, was very tasty and good a portion.

Went to see Grace and Danger, they were a great blues/Rock band. Fou d the bar to  e busy with like minded people. Drinks were not too expensive and the bar staff were lovely.
