We came here for the strawberry festival. This winery is very beautiful, it's on a large bit of land with multiple outdoor sitting area and fireplaces. There is a tasting room inside. The facilities were clean and the staff friendly. I wish the girl I spoke too was a little more knowledgeable about the wine selection. There were three delicious food trucks and a few live bands, it was a nice evening. At night they have cute lights throughout the winery as well. The parking situation was a bit rough getting in and out of when crowded for the event as parking was limited.
TOO CROWDED! This is like an amusement park for alcohol but in all the bad ways, we were here for about 10 minutes, long enough to walk the grounds and realize that there was no way to get any alcohol under 30 minutes. The only reason we gave this more than one star is that the venue looks gorgeous. We walked in through the vineyard side and the immediate smell that hit you was one of dirty toilets which I used and they were not the cleanest. The line for the champagne bar was a good 20-30 people long. We then walked back outside, enjoyed some live music which was really nice, and walked over to the beer side which was another 30 to 40 people waiting just to get drinks. I don't know if they underestimated the amount of people that would be there on a Friday night, but we certainly didn't wait around that long to try the alcohol. There were a number of food trucks all of which had at least 10 to 20 people in line around them. If I wanted to stand in line for food and drink I can go to Hershey park. Additionally the parking situation is a bit wretched. If we ever decide to come back and don't have to wait in line for 30 minutes, I will update the review but first impressions were not good.
Generally an overall nice place very large seem like a lot of stuff to do many different drinks and wines available. I went on a Saturday afternoon unfortunately it was a rainy one. The place had a lot of signs and rules, probably because people drink and get in trouble. Staff were not rude but not friendly I felt like I was an inconvenience every time I ordered something. They had bands and food trucks.
Visited Spring Gate winery multiple times! They always have some kind of event going on. I love their wine/beer slushees and they also have a separate cocktail which is fairly new! Would not recommend their BBQ food truck though because the brisket was so tough that I couldn’t eat it.
Great vineyard with a great selection of wines. There was a food truck but it didn’t have much vegetarian options. Nonetheless, the live music created great vibes.
Amazing place to chill in Harrisburg. When you ask people where there “is to do” in Harrisburg - most will point to the beautiful local vineyards. SpringGate is an awe inspiring, calm place to hang out with a glass or bottle of local wine! Enjoy live music and a wine slushy while you’re there!
Cider flight was good. Cocktail flight was awful. If I would have known the cocktails we’re coming out of a can I would not have gotten it. You could tell. They had food trucks outside. Stopped by the pizza truck and nobody was there. Went to the taco truck. Nobody finished their tacos, were not that great. Super super disappointing. We did buy a bottle of mimosa to take home which was good.
Usually a great place. Easy to relax and hang out by the fire-pit. Last night we went to lobster fest around 4 PM. Went for food around 530 and the food truck was out of lobster. Also, no popcorn. They said they were out of kernels. Our expectations for the night were ruined. How can you run out of lobster on the first night of a three day lobster fest?
My friends and I went for their luau party weekend. Pictures in the fb invite were nothing like the place. No one was dressed up . Not even the people behind the counter. You had to order and pay on their website then they could hand you your purchase. The food truck they had their on sun was amazing! We had the cocktail flight and was not impressed. We went to another winery down the road.
Came for so called Lobster festival , drove over an hour . Have never experienced a winery so understaffed and unusual before . Three food trucks , only one that had any lobster dishes advertised , but by 3 pm on a Saturday had no crab cakes or lobster available. No wine tasting , no prices for wine bottles to purchase until after waiting in line for 30 minutes. Will not go back . Many fabulous wineries to be had , but this surely was not one.
