St Michael's, a school rich in tradition, is celebrating 140 years of excellence. Our mission is to remain at the forefront of education.
St Michael’s is a school rich in tradition, with roots going back more than a century and a quarter. From this it draws much of its strength and sense of identity. Our mission is to remain at the forefront of education as we strive for academic, sporting and cultural excellence. We offer schooling for day scholars from Grade 000 to 12 as well as boarding facilities from Grade 5.
Academic Excellence:
St Michael’s is proud to have maintained a 100% Matric pass rate for the last 34 years and in 2013 it was hailed as the top school in the Motheo district for achieving a 100% Bachelor’s Pass (Matric Exemption). We are consistently the top performing school in English Home Language.
Sport & Arts:
St Michael’s has a committed team of coaches who carry out their coaching duties with infectious enthusiasm. We offer hockey, netball, squash, swimming, tennis, chess and athletics.
The arts thrive at St Michael’s. Our chapel choir, debating and public speaking have won acclaim in the national and international arena. Our vibrant music, art and drama departments provide a platform for enrichment, showcasing our learners’ talent.
Spiritual Wellbeing:
The school has preserved its Anglican tradition. Daily assemblies take place in the chapel, the heart of the school, while on Sundays there is a worship service. St Michael’s offers its pupils a firm foundation in the Christian faith. The Carer’s Club, Chapel Servers’ Guild, Christian Fellowship Group, and other outreach programmes aim to produce caring young adults who will be ready to serve in their communities.
