The take off consisted of unexpected jolts and bumps eventually stabilizing in a seamless transaction. Please do follow the booking reviews that advises you to manually enter dates in order to gain booking access, select a date for atleast two months in advance. I established booking for the 14th of June 2022. Today I received an SMS and email for collection of my new smart ID card. I recommend Standard Bank Home Affairs to anyone considering smart ID card applications and Tourist passports if you wish to have a seamless transaction. The process was efficient and the wait was day vs night compared to the Home Affairs experience . Please open a Standard Bank account should you wish to take advantage of this efficient process. I am filled with gratitude that Home Affairs has partnered with Standard Bank to make this service possible to their customers. Outstanding 30/06/2022- Went for collection but they were offline. 14 /07/2022- Collection was under 5 minutes, the queue for biometrics capture had a total of four people.
Useless bank spent an hour trying to speak to someone on the phone. Got through after 8 minutes, got transferred to no one for 28 minutes. Tried another number I thought would get me closer to the correct department to speak to someone, waited 20 min on the line and didn't even get to speak to anyone. And they are so useless in the branch that they will just give you there phone and say call this number so you will be in the same situation just at their branch instead of at home. Every time I contact the bank it’s just worse and worse. Unbelievably bad service. You pay for services and like most South African services you paid for you get next to nothing in return.
hi can I PLEASE get some assistance. Can I please make an appointment for my passport .All payments have been made I just need to book an appointment but that is impossible. First I tried though home affairs but guess what no luck. Then I tried to call Standard bank to make an online booking and still no luck. I wasted all my money on airtime just to be put on hold! this is ridiculous. I need to make an appointment at this branch
No one answer the calls. Getting an app to do biometrics for a smart ID is a pain. Why have an online system that doesnt work if you have to come to the branch again to ask questions and help when there is an online system its useless
For those of you that are trying to book an appointment at home affairs: 1. You need to manually enter the dates. 2. A new date gets released at 6amonly on weekdays E.g. it’s Friday & you’re trying to book an appointment but the system says that there are no available dates. You will have to wake up on Monday morning at 6am to see which new date they make available for bookings. Try to enter a date that’s about a month away from the day you are trying to book so you can figure out which dates they are releasing appointments for. -Going to the branch without an appointment wont help. They’ll tell you to do what I’ve listed above. When you eventually get your appointment at the branch there’s a possibility that the system will be offline/ slow. There is no point in getting upset at the employees there. They have no control over the system. Trust me, they are trying & they don’t deserve the ill treatment I’ve witnessed some people give to them. If you’re an impatient individual, they will reschedule your appointment but there’s no guarantee that the system will be working any better on the date that you reschedule. At the end of the day, is better SITTING in an air conditioned bank branch than waiting in a loooonnngg line at a home affairs branch with no guarantee of receiving assistance.
I had a seamless process at Home affairs here. My consultant, Nothile, was friendly and efficient. I applied online and did biometrics etc at a local home affairs because I wanted a closer date of application than those available online and then went to collect at the bank where my documents were dispatched. I was able to collect my documents within 30 minutes, hassle free! If you plan in advance I’d recommend this Home affairs for both application and collection.
Utterly frustrated Standard bank didn't disappoint me with their sub standard service. I experience it on each moneygram visit to the bank. The transaction is always over 30min. On 6 January I went to collect moneygram at westville branch and I was told they were offline. On 6th I called same branch to check if they had come back online but was on hold for 8min till I cut off. On 8th I went to the same branch and I was told that moneygram tellers were on leave for 3 weeks so I should go to another branch for the service. On 9 January I went to Pavilion mall branch. For a change service was better. Didn't have to manually fill in the form. I hope they do something about either the service or the communication.
Home Affairs allowed banks to help with the passport applications however the Standard Bank Kingsmead is the same if not worse than home affairs. Instead of applying with FNB, I felt loyalty to Standard Bank as our business banks with them however the passport application and more specifically trying to get an appointment to go in to do biometrics is impossible. Standard Bank staff themselves complained when they tried to get their own siting their applications were done last year and only got appointments in this last 2 weeks. This is so unacceptable. FNB Cornubia on the other have had glowing reviews for their passport applications. This is so disappointing as I now have to go into a Home Affairs branch to complete this process which should have been a lot simpler.
The security officer was so friendly and accommodating, however ,that's where the experience ended. The enquiries staff wasn't helpful and slow , I went to cash for ex and after 40 mins of not being attended to left.
Useless bank have been in bank from 9h10 to do deposit at 9 h30 still not seen to an I am number 2 in line only one teller open
