OMW where do I begin... ER, what a joke, felt like we were in a public hospital. Dont know why its called a private hospital. Firstly a baby screaming just to find out he has been waiting 3 hours just to see a doctor, we waited 4 hours, and take note this is ER! But while sitting there the nurse at reception has a friend among us with her mother and child, she leaves her station to buy them KFC and there they sit in ER eating KFC between all of us. I even took photos of this as i wanted to take this to the health department. Then they talk to the reception nurse over everyone, it sounded like a shebeen. This is becoming the worst ER i have seen I think even worse then a public hospital. Why pay medical aid?
I have been coming to this hospital since I was a child. Childrens ward was always great. Section D ward is always nice. But we always wait at least 2 hours in the Emergency Room before being checked out for stats. Another hour before they give you a bed. And then another hour at least after your bed is given before a doctor sees you. The staff aren't always friendly and will talk amongst themselves. They need to pick up the slack.
ICU department What a disappointment and disgrace. No nurse knows what is going on no one to explain why the patients are unable to speak yet restraints are on. Bugs in the ICU foul smell because the obviously not cleaning the patients AND IF YOU TRY TALK TO THEM THEY WALK AWAY!!! Your hospital should be reported. You shouldn't be paid the price you charge for the zero service care and respect you have u offer.
I would like to give a shout out to the maternity ward at Sunward Hospital and my gynae Dr. Motshegare. I went through a very traumatic experience but the nurses were very supportive and genuinely caring during this very difficult time. My gynae explored all different options went above and beyond to explain the approaches and options available to us. There are a few nurses I would like to mention and give thanks to Sister Lorette, Sister Marcia, Sister Retha and Sister Cindy. These are the few names of the professionals I can remember that looked after me during my stay, I hope Netcare trains all their staff to do stellar work as their maternity ward.
Pediatric department literally looks like a dirty jail. My 7 day old baby was so mistreated that we took her home not even a few hours after booking in. She came back after bloods with a big bump on her head, scratches on her face and needle marks everywhere because they kept popping her veins for a hour not even asking if they could continue to try, they just did it. Then I was told they couldn't get her drip in so theyre leaving it for night staff because she's so tiny they don't know what to do with her. No one came to check on us and I'm still recovering from a fresh c section yet they still made me do everything and walk her up and down with no assistance. My baby is literally traumatized. It's disgusting how they could hurt a tiny human like her and not care.
The level of service at this so called pvt hospital is appalling. The Dr's at their ER are clueless if indeed they are Dr's. I have numerous bad experiences for my own consultations. I took my 4 yr old for a very very sensitive consultation but the Dr was very naive, insensitive, unprofessional, careless, clueless and every negative word one can think of. The stuff is friendly and does what needs to be done, they have the best Opt stat and gynaecologist Professor Dr John Meowglee which I will recommend no matter where in the world you are. The nurses keep you updated at all times and actually care about the wellbeing of their patients. The hospital is clean and without a doubt efficient.
After making a BOOKING to see a Doctor I had to sit for over an hour and 45 minutes just to find out that "oh my bad the doctor is actually still on leave and Unfortunately this was not communicated to any of the nurses " yet i recieved a confirmation call from his rooms stating that he is available? Then to add there where no other doctors avaliable to see when I asked to be seen to after an hour !!!Absolutely pathetic service!!
I was admitted to high care . I want to thank all the staff that took care of me .Especially a big thank you to Sello and Rose. Really , these nurses were really taking good care of their patients . Keep up the good work .
To the staff at Sunward park ICU and Section D the care and empathy given to my wife was first class .We are so appreciative of their professional attitude and their willingness to assist whenever needed . Thank you for making my wife's stay a very pleasant experience
