My trip Cape Town to Victoria Falls acomodated ended yesterday. Guides were very nice,Marcus and Shandley, always positive. Handle group very well. It was great experience
WARNING: If you're considering booking with Sunway, please read this first. We recently went on the CV21 tour with Sunway, and I have to say it was a huge disappointment. We looked at cheaper options but finally decided to book with Sunway because we thought they had a good itinerary. Unfortunately, from the start, it was clear that this tour was not well-organized. On Day 1, we were given the wrong pickup spot in Cape Town, so we had to get taxis across the city with all our luggage at our own expense. The company did not apologize for this, and instead, they blamed our booking agent. After the first couple of days on the tour, it was apparent that the planning that went into time management was extremely poor. We had way too much free time, and were often told to relax by the pool or bar for several hours. This certainly wasn't what we imagined when we booked an adventure tour. If we wanted to sit by a bar or pool, we would have gone to Bali. On several occasions, we arrived at our campsite by midday and had to put up our tents during the hottest part of the day without shelter from the sun. We estimate that there were probably five whole days that could have been spent somewhere else rather than waiting around doing nothing. The tour itself was also poorly designed, with consecutive days at Spitzkoppe and Brandberg that were very similar, and the campsites at both locations had no sun shelter. To make matters worse, we were the only English speakers on the tour, and the remaining four guests were all Swiss-German or German. This led to most conversations being in German, which we do not understand, making it difficult to build a good rapport with the others. This was particularly annoying for us as we had previously asked to join the German tour as the dates suited us better but were told that it was not permitted and we needed to speak German for that tour. Everyone in the group was very annoyed at how the optional activities were managed. In most cases, we were not told about the activities that were available with enough time before arriving at a stop. Some of the group missed out on what they wanted to do because it was fully booked when they arrived in Swakopmund. The same thing happened when we got to Etosha, and we wanted to book the evening game drive. On both occasions, we ended up having to beg the tour operators to let us book or else we would have had to resort to the bar or pool once again. However, the most annoying thing about this tour was ironically the itinerary, which was the reason we booked with Sunway in the first place. There were many disappointing stops along the way, especially the Kalahari and Makgadikgadi Pans. The Kalahari stop was just some campsite and bar off the main highway, nowhere near the actual central Kalahari where we thought it would be. Also, the bushmen experience there was not very authentic; it was just some rehearsed routine. Most annoyingly, the guides were just going to skip the Makgadikgadi Pans stop until we convinced them otherwise. They said it was out of season and there was no point. I personally could not believe this. We had paid for this; how could they just skip places? Overall, I would not recommend this tour to anyone. Before joining this tour, we completed another tour from Nairobi to Vic Falls with Absolute Africa, and the way they managed optional activities was far better. They also have an option for this route but leave from Vic Falls. It is way cheaper and has better stops. We really regret not picking this one. It's clear that Sunway has a lot of work to do to improve their tours and ensure that their customers are getting value for their money. I emailed my complaints about this tour directly to Sunway but did not receive a satisfactory response, the owners do not seem interested in customer satisfaction.
If someone told me that I had one month to live, I would spend it on this trip. We have traveled all over the world, and this is it. Can't wait to do it again.
Very good travel agency. The places we visited, were carefully selected and the most interesting and worth visiting ones in Zambia and Malawi. Our guides, Ismail and Petros were excellent in all respects; kind, always smiling, knowledgeable, taking care of ALL our needs, walking that extra mile, to secure an amazing experience for us. Both of them, are also excellent cooks. Room for improvement exists only in regards to some of the selected accommodation.
Through Fair Mundo in Holland I booked a tour with a group to Namibia and Botswana. It was a great experience. I took the lodge tour and the accommodation was great. They know the best places to stay. We drove through the countries. It was early up and long drives but it was worth it. Because then you get to see all the nice places. The three weeks flew by. From one adventure to another. The guides were very helpful and booked some extra tours like a game drive in Chobe and a flight over the Okavango Delta for us. It was great.
We did the 21 days tour from Capetown to Victoria falls. It was a very good organized travel and our guides Zee am Skhu did am amazing job. Thanks to the whole team of sunway for organizing such a great experience. We would recommend everyone to travel with that agency. The hotels, lodges, camps where all very good. The tourbus was very comfortable and everything we needed was on board.
Our trip through Sambia, Namibia and Botswana with the red elephant was just amazing!!! Our guides Wayne and Cloud were absolutely great: they took care of us, cooked delicious meals even veggie and answered all our questions with patience and a surprising know-how. Thank you so much for this incredible experience!
I did the rainbow route and it was amazing! Our tour guides Jeff and Norman were the best! They should really be chefs, as their cooking was fantastic! They always did everything in their power to ensure everyone was happy The tour itself was so diverse. We saw 4 of the big 5, just missing the leopard, but we also saw so many other animals and birds, more than I could ever have imagined. After the wilderness, we spent time on the beautiful coast in the cape provinces. It’s a trip that I will never forget!! The only negative thing that I have to say is that Sunway failed to be at the airport to pick me up, as promised. I paid for transfer to the hotel, but they failed to show up. It was very scary and took 1.5 hours after complaining for them to show up. Another girl on our tour had the same experience, and she had an even scarier experience with a cab driver. This needs to be fixed!!!! Being in a strange country alone and not knowing what to do is terrifying! Overall, I would definitely recommend this tour and our very special guides
Highly recommend, an unbelieve experience We have recently returned from a wonderful 21 day Sunway Safari from Cape Town to Victoria Falls, August 2015. It was the most amazing adventure we have had in our travels around the world. We were on the accommodated tour and the accommodation was always clean and comfortable and in some amazing scenic spots. Although the first night was at the Sweet Lemon Guest House and we were separated from our group as they were in another guest house, we would have preferred to be together in one location for our first night. Our guide Chris Z was an expert guide, driver and cook. The food was so delicious and healthy and we all joined in with the preparation of the meals. We would even rate the food better than some of the restaurant meals we had. Chris was such fun to be with and his planning was amazing, he gave us a timetable each day but we did not feel rushed at all. He was so knowledgeable and answered all our never ending questions about the country, animals etc. We were so fortunate to see so many animals and birds and loved watching the animals in Etosha and Chobe National Parks and even saw a large number of animals while driving on the roads. The highlight of our trip would be the elephants coming close to our camp at the Okavango Delta. The most memorable occasion was all the polers singing Beautiful Africa on our return from the Delta. Chris always engaged the locals and we had all the polers in the area singing for us. It was just unbelievable. Chris always ensured that our needs were met even going out of his way to arrange an airport transfer at the best price. Matthew our trainee guide was very knowledgeable on the regions we visited, animals and birds. We were always putting questions to him. He was fun to be with and had some great jokes. He loved his country and enjoyed telling us about and his experiences. We chose this safari as it had such a diverse variety of scenery and best value for money. Overall, the Sunway Safari was one of our best travel experiences ever. We highly recommend Sunway Safaris to anyone who is organising a safari in Southern Africa
