Absolutely amazing in-store experience. I came to Computer Mania Mall of Africa to have a damaged laptop assessed and the staff were unbelievably friendly, helpful and professional. Jarred assisted me and he was fantastic! Ask for him by name.
Went to go look for a laptop bracket, which they did not have in stock. Obviously, this is not why I'm rating this shop a 5. It's because of an employee named Phoenix. He was super kind and helpful. I was very impressed with his client service and he has excellent people skills. Well done sir! Keep it up
I should probably write two separate reviews... one with a 4start experience and the other with a 0 or 1 star experience. Let me explain: I was in urgent need of a high end laptop. Upon visiting the store on Tuesday afternoon I was very pleased with the in-store assistance. They also had stock on hand of two laptops I was interested in. So great for my time pressure. I decided to take the evening to do a bit of my own research and then come back the next morning with my decision on which one to purchase. All good up to here. The next morning Wednesday. I arrive at the store at 7:50am. On google the shops work hours state they open at 8am. Remember I am under time pressure. I wait... and wait... At 9am the store opens. I meet the sales consultant and explain which laptop I would like to buy. Then the fun starts... there is an issue with the vault and they cannot get the unit for me. So I wait some more. At around 10:30am they get the unit out and we process the sale. I then have issues with my card limit so have to do an eft. This happens around 11am and first has to clear with head-office... and could take 90min. understood. So I give the sales agent my details and ask him to call me when they have confirmation. He agrees and he knows I need the laptop urgently. From 12:30 I tried to get hold of the store.. no luck. none of their numbers worked - not even the mobile ones I was given. At around 2pm I phoned the head office and explained the situation. They then confirmed that they payment is through and they would interact with the store and get them to call me. At 3:30pm I still had no feedback. I then arranged with a colleague to go to the store and check. They then assisted him him and he could take the laptop on my behalf. Such a frustrating experience and not even a free pen or small discount for all the trouble. I still have not had a courtesy call from them. Simple communication / updates throughout the day would have gone a long way. I hope this can be improved in future. Very disappointing.
I have been to many computer shops over the last few years and I must say these guys are by far the best. I took my pc in on a public holiday and asked them if they would in the same day find the cause of stability issues in my pc. They worked from 10 am till 8pm when they were supposed to close to strip and test every part to find the cause and even though it was closing time when I got back they were more than happy for me to run a benchmark to make sure everything was in order. Don't think I'll ever use another computer shop. Thanks again guys!
Thank you for the awesome service. After running up and down looking for a AV. Cable for my Xbox 360. E. turns out I didnt need one. Gift Morewa was a Hero. All I needed was speakers to power the consoles AV. He even tested the device no charges. Highly recommend Gift for his services. And will turn to computer Mania in the future for any electronic devices.
Worst service I have ever experienced. As a qualified I.T engineer who went into the store to pick up a universal charger I knew exactly what I was looking for and as a customer I never expect to be treated like I have no idea what I am looking for, I was told by their so called know it all expert in the store that they cannot sell me the charger unless I bring my laptop in and that it's a rule lol it's the most ridiculous rule I have ever heard from a tech store. I bought the exact same charger from Incredible connection a few stores down and the charger works perfectly fine. Waste of time store and would not recommend anybody to get support from here, as they clearly have no idea what they are doing.
These small shops are not good hey, that’s why we stick to big shops like Game, Makro etc for appliances. So I got a smart remote for my laptop then a month later the remote stops working. I take it back immediately and they tell me that they have to take it for repairs, like who repairs a remote!! I took it on the 5th of August, now it’s 20 September and still no call from them. When I call, I’m always told that the manager is not around. Big shops just give u a new product when it’s faulty so quick. So as for me, never again. That time I’m in Kempton Park and I bought it at mall of Africa, I already spent petrol to go get it, return it, not I must go fetch it when Jesus comes back.
Such nice guys that work there. Very friendly and helpful. I’m glad I left incredible connection to purchase from there. Would definitely buy again.
This shop doesn't open at 8am. I was there at 8:15 am and still not open
Amazing experience at this store, staff are friendly and polite, they have great prices too! Highly recommend Phoenix, he was a top-notch sales representative.
