a stunning gallery! different artstyles and artists from local ones to Picasso. I liked the thematical exhibitions. Cafe and gallery-shop are a welcome addition to tze expetience.Friendly staffand beautiful building.
A half-decent gallery, but mostly filled with odd pieces and high school art. There was also a "ladies high tea" in the main room with a cult atmosphere and loud chanting and swaying, very unprofessional and off-putting for an art gallery. There is a parking lot but it's empty, unattended, and inaccessible leaving you to park on the street in one of the most dangerous parts of town.
What a privilege to have such a glorious temple of art in such a small city! I was really impressed by both the collection and variety of art, and the clean and efficient way in which the gallery is managed. This gallery is really an asset for Umgungundlovu.
Went there today and there was a very rude security guardfemale, ended up not even viewing anything cause she just drained our energy I feel like when hiring staff that should welcome guests, the gallery should make sure that person is equipped with interpersonal skills.
The place is perfect, I love art and I absolutely loved everything I saw there.

Beautiful place to get away for some art and quiet. I love the fact that theu have various exhibitions throughout the year, and that there's parking for visitors to the gallery. I'm hoping to see this place thrive and be better.
A good, but small, collection of local art, supplemented by some minor works by major artists of the 20th and late 19th centuries. Nice feel. Some art quite eclectic, some potentially disturbing for children, but generally interesting. Very nice restaurant / coffee bar. Small shop with interesting local art, supporting local artists. A nice place to spend a few hours. Parking a bit limited, but generally available.
Interesting art museum in Pietermaritzburg - it was established in 1903 and since then showcases permanent & temporary exhibits in a historical setting. Enjoyed spending an hour on Sunday morning.
Its an amazing place. I always come to the Gallery for visit coz I love art. Its Peaceful. Amazing and everyone there are friendly. I feel safe. The place is amazing. Its even close to City hall
