Tax Monitor

I unfortunately did not have a very positive experience. We are dealing with an estate and the tax practitioner needed an OTP. Nobody however informed me they need one. So they requested one since this morning and only this afternoon when I logged in I noticed there was a request for one. Then when I called to ask what is needed I was very rudely informed by Leticia that she has nothing to do with the estate I should contact the attorneys. Also that she only received the request this morning from the attorneys and that she cannot hold on the line whilst I am waiting for the OTP I can call back on Monday. Now Im not in charge of the system with SARS so the delay in receiving an OTP is not due to slackness on my side. Her tone was abrupt and cold. I would not advise anyone to be dealing with them. Obviously I was misinformed as to what she needed or else I could have just emailed SARS directly. I deal with clients daily and my frustration with systems never become theirs. Kindness costs us absolutely nothing.

Keith provided me with advice that ended up saving me R26,000. My tax practitioner insisted I had R29,000 in taxes to pay, but information I'd learned from Tax Monitor some time before alerted me to the fact that she was wrong. She tried to insist I submit and pay that R29,000, but I stood my ground and rather opted to pay late fees while I got a second opinion. Turns out The information I'd gotten from Tax Monitor was correct, and I would have ended up paying R26,000 to SARS that I'd never have gotten back. I'd recommend them as they are extremely thorough and well informed. They're so efficient on their processes that it leaves time to actually provide useful strategic advice.
