If there is any excuse to get away from the city and head out into the tranquil countryside to explore, experience and enjoy the magic of countryside Stellenbosch, 'The Farmers Kitchen' will be one of the best reasons for doing just this. The restaurant is informal, yet classy, the views are breathtaking, with rows of scarecrows and grape vines, strawberry fields and majestic mountains. The vibe here is friendly and trendy and the food.... it's just heavenly, wide-variety-perfectly delicious!

Beer selection is enormous but could be colder. Food is pretty decent and the service is slow. But it's got a really nice play area for the kids to enjoy themselves.Food: 3/5

The food is great! We had the deli croissant which was delicious. We love that there is an outdoor area for kids. Service could have been faster, but we were a big party.

The Pizza was great.. Must say the service was very bad for a wednesday.  We waited 45 min for food, i had to ask twice for a waiter just to order drinks, i got a bad attitude from the waiter who welcome us, she must be the head waitres/hostess , we did not appreciate that. We had our parents here from kzn and we wanted to spoil them with a nice lunch, the experience was unpleasent.Our   new waiter did his best to change the atmosphere he was very friendly and help full, i can give him that. But we wont come again

I took my boyfriend there for his 30th birthday breakfast. The waiter was dismissive and his overall service was not very pleasant.  We ordered the main breakfast. Wow, what a disappointment. It was basically what I cook at home if I don't put any effort into the food. Really bland and uninspired. Ordinarily I'll give food like that a pass, but for the price they charged the deserve this review.  The only good thing was their cappuccino.

The food was great however the service was poor and unfortunately they did not maintain basic hygiene standards. We observed people sitting at tables that were not sanitized before they were seated. I don't think i will go there again during the pandemic

Today 10 March my son and I ordered French toast with bacon, mascoponi cheese and berry compote. W received ice cold french toast made with goverment white toasty bread, mascoponi cheese, bacon and berry jam. Served on ice cold plates. The same plates of food were then placed in a very hot oven and brought back to the table. This is totally unacceptable and what was worse was the so called chef walked through the restaurant with an arrogant swagger - basically intimating that he didn't give a toss about us. We did not eat the meal. The waiter and young female manager was not to blame. They behaved impecably. We were the only two people in the place - doesn't say much for the caliber of 'CHEF' implyed there. I will never set foot in that place again!

Very average. I won't hurry back.Food: 4/5
