Second visit to a Hilly Hut, gorgeous location, sunken hot tub for two is beautiful. The walk to the hut from the car park is a bit brutal so park light! Gorgeous bar and terraces. One thing to remember is breakfast at the weekend still stops at 10.30, we presumed 11! Room service breakfast is lovely. The Fish is a firm favourite and will return years after year, thank you for your lovely hospitality
Lovely place, lots to do food outstanding. Staff always ask if you need help. Lots of places to stay whilst there, hotel rooms, shepherd's huts, tree houses, terrace house with patio. The interior will make it sit up & take notice, it's beautiful, relaxing like a pair of inviting arms calling you in you'll love it
My husband and I looked at booking a night in the treehouse for our wedding anniversary which is middle of July. We have a fully grown well trained toy poodle who will be 11 months 1 in august and we were told we couldn't book as the owners do not allow dogs under 1 years- I'm sorry but this is absurd, you either allow dogs or you don't, at £500+ per night, if I want to bring my dog I should be allowed to. Clearly not very dog friendly! We took our dog to other lodges and treehouses at only 6 months and had no issues at all. I could possibly understand for a puppy of only 8-13 weeks but a dog that is already fully grown since 8 months being a toy breed makes no sense. The reservationist also couldn't provide a reason other than 'owners decision'. Would not concider staying here in the future.
Absolutely delightful stay at the Fish! We chose this venue for a girls night away post Christmas, as a treat to exchange gifts and spend quality time together. Checkin was simple, then we parked near the Stables, unpacked and found our rooms. Delightful communal area by the rooms, housing sweets, milk, pretzels etc all help yourself, lovely welcoming touch. The rooms are spacious and clean with much attention to detail. Dinner at the Hook was good, varied menu and attentive staff. Breakfast also excellent. The Fish is a very well appointed stylish hotel which we would certainly recommend and hope to visit again.
This place is fantastic for couples, families and pets. There is a variety of options from a large 8 bedroom house for groups to beautiful hideaways for couples. I stayed in the fish part, which has a great restaurant and bar with amazing service. Our particular hut had a hot tub highly recommended and was a very short walk from the restaurant. It is also very close to the other areas of the estate, including the spa and golf course. This place is beautiful and we will be coming back with our extended family soon.
There truly are not enough superlatives to describe this hotel. It is everything you'd expect given the reviews and price! And it is so much more. You'd expect the service, rooms and surroundings to be amazing, and they are. But it's the friendliness of everyone and the small touches that make a massive difference. When we arrived we were welcomed in such a warm way it made as feel right at home. There was no standing at a reception desk and waiting, but rather we were shown to sofas and then the lady brought her laptop to us to explain everything. We walked down to our Hilly Hut and were blown away. The decor was beautifully done with everything we could have wanted. Better still, another thoughtful touch, the fridge already had complimentary soft drinks and beers, with some snacks in the drawer. We had lovely bathrobes, slippers and even flipflops for going to the hot tub. We also had specific towels for the hot tub. Then after twenty minutes or so, just enough time to explore the hut and think 'oh I wish they'd just done ...' there was a phone call asking if we needed anything. Yes please, seats for outside and some glasses. 'Did we want champagne glasses, wine or highballs?' Nice. Two deckchairs arrived and we relaxed . Dinner in the bar was very good, the pizzas were probably the best we've had outside of Italy. There was a boot room with complimentary wellies of all sizes plus maps of local walks. We had our own kit so went off hiking for the day in the beautiful countryside. Back later to the hot tub and ordering of G&Ts using the intercom beside the tub, and the drinks were delivered to us quickly afterwards right to the side of the tub. Amazing. Dinner in Hook was incredible. The food was really great and even though it was busy all the serving staff always had time for a smile and a chat. It was especially great to see Jacob again previously in Barnsley House and amazing he recognised us. Tamara was lovely and looked after us extremely well. All in all this is a luxury that if you can afford you really must do.
A wonderful hotel with amazing, friendly staff. We enjoyed the walks, dog exercise/play area and clay pigeon shooting. Food was superb with an excellent range of options. One of our number has a range of, somewhat unusual, allergy issues and the staff were superb in ensuring he could enjoy breakfast and dinner. Noteworthy details: You feel you are miles from anywhere. The estate is beautifully maintained and a wonderful, relaxing retreat. Very dog friendly and they provide all the services you need for a dog they even make sure they put the right size of dog bed in your dog friendly room.
A fantastic weekend stay for my girl friends birthday was the order of the day! We caught the tail end of the cheltenham races with the helicopters returning guests on the night of arrival, a swift and complimentary check in with a lovely surprise gift for the gf in our room in the stables, this was cosy, compact but had everything we needed. A short walk up to the lodge for an excellent dinning service in the Hook, fish is the prominent dish obviously! excellent quality and presentation, vibrant atmosphere followed by a few drinks in the bar area, check out the bolly room if you like your vintages as we do. Walks into Broadway are signposted and wellies are provided in the boot room, the Lygon Arms and James Martins "Tavern" were a nice antidote to the busy high street. We had arranged dinner at Dormy House, also part of the estate so a quick taxi provided for from the Lodge in Thunderbird 4 was appreciated in the wet weather and what an amazing place Dormy is! Lounge within a lounge and a fantastic evening dinner service with superb staffing, lovely to sit by one of fires and put the world to rights with a cocktail or two. Breakfast was superb from the Hook again whilst we also had a gander at the feasting deck for when it gets warmer. Overall, this is a gem of an estate with wonderful views, well laid out accommodation, hilly huts, tree houses, Foxhill manor for refinement, attentive staffing, great food, slightly more expensive in some parts but this is the cotswolds. A chance to unwind from the stresses of the everyday. Well worth a stay and we look forward to a return visit!
My wife and I had lunch today at the Fish. The views across the hills over Broadway are stunning! However the bar area was cold and very poorly lit. When we asked for the heating to be turned up the friendly staff brought us blankets and closed a couple of doors. The menu itself was very limited. We ordered Pizzas which took an age to come. The lighting was also very poor. Although it was in the middle of the day we had to use our phone torches to read the menu. Being a Tour Operator, I will not being taking my guests for lunch at the Fish.
Can’t wait to return. The perfect get away. Breakfast was great, the free snacks & wine card were an unexpected bonus. Room was very quiet & comfortable
