The Halfway House Hotel

This should be a true reflection of the hotels rated stars. Rooms clean and neat and all the surroundings. Attention to detail is lacking and the finer touch is non existent. Staff are friendly and courteous and they deserve their own 5 star rating.

Cofortable amd clean, but disappointing the basin plug was missing, the air-conditioning did not work, no outside windows to the bedroom, the tap leaked...need I say more? Such a pity that a historical building has been "damaged" by an exterior facade. The history is so interesting but very little is mentioned in any brochures.Rooms: 3/5

Cleanliness was a bit of an issue for me. It felt like the bedding wasn't clean and the bed wasn't made properly. The towels were clean but needs to be replaced as one had a whole in. Towels and bedding had yellow stains on them. Gorgeous Hotel with a rich history with so much potential.

A great effort was made in renovating however it was disconcerting having bedroom window and ablutions looking right onto and within hand reach of guests relaxing onthe patio. Breakfast over oozed and waiters scarce, slow service and toast arrives half way through meal. Lovely big rooms and massive shower,

Other rooms in the hotel needs some things to be renewed, especially shower heads in room 14 and spme elevation ad the water comes out of showers.Cleaners also needs to check windows while cleaning to clean out some spider webs. Rooms also needs x 2 cups not just one, since bookings would bw showing x 2 occupants and not x 1. After all is said and done, the place is still one of the best in kimberly in terms of security and pricing. Safety: The parking is enough and secure. I normally see a guard around the area.

I would not recommend this hotel. You will be disappointed. Thin walls, no privacy. Rooms are in a poor state. Noisy guests keep you awake all night unfortunately. Rooms: Rooms lacking maintenance. Walls are thin. No windows or ventilation. Poor privacy.

I've been staying here monthly for about a 2 years and their rooms/services have declined tremendously. In relation to what they charge, it is an absolute rip off. There is no hot water at times, on occasion they hadn't paid the dstv bill. The fixtures are old and broken which is a hazard itself. The last straw is when I made a booking and got to the establishment only to find out the lady hadn't registered the booking leaving me with no place to stay the night.

The worst ever accommodation to stay at. Honestly even 1 star rating, they don’t deserve it!!! I had a cold shower in the morning. Complained that the room I’m staying in does not have hot water in the shower, the bathtub does not have have cold water and there is no water in the toilet. I made them aware of the matter at 10:00 in the morning and Nthabiseng lady at reception said plumber is getting to it, lying because she called handyman not the plumber only at 16:00 did they call the plumber and the plumber came at 19:30 to say there is nothing he can do at that hour, the pipes are blocked. 20-04-23 at 06:11 only did the manager say he is hearing about this for the first time. No one at reception, the problem is not fixed. They keep on saying “sorry for the inconvenience, will sort it out and get back to you” they won’t get back to you unless you do. We couldn’t even watch Bayern and Man City game because they didn’t pay the DSTV. If you want to waste your money you can book with this so called luxury hotel. This is a guesthouse!!

I will surely come back to this hotel in the future the service and staff is the best, breakfast, rooms is one of the best thus far, keep up good work Rooms: Roo was the best and specious Safety: It is safe as I walked outside late-night without any issues Walkability: Area is walkable and peaceful Food & drinks: Food and drinks are one stop shop I can recommend as the best

The service was very poor ,we did not have electricity for the two nights and no one came to explain to us what seems to be the issue. They said to us that they’re not affected by load shedding, it is very disappointing as your hotel comes highly recommended. Please do better and be upfront about issues you know might be unsatisfactory to guests.
