Located in the Once In Joburg Hotel, The Immigrant embodies the special Joburg culture of bringing together people from all over the world, Zwakala!

Description

The Immigrant is all about Jozi and Braamfontein.

It's a place to mix and mingle, for eating, drinking, sharing and relaxing.

Set up by the team behind The Artisan in Greenside and closely linked to Once in Joburg hostel, we serve good, easy food & drinks all day.

Starting off with on-the-go bagels for hostel guests through to sharing boards of rump, chicken and veg with beer buckets for the evenings.

Great food and drinks, large variety. Close to Neighbourgoods market which is on Saturdays. Chilled with a great view of Braam. Toilet great for mirror selfies lol
Nice urban place,great service, good for a quick and a night out definitely for a vibrant crowd, has a great bar, has outside setting, great food, as a tea fanatic i was disappointed by the brand of Ceylon they had it was awful, none the less it is a great place.

A little bit pricey and classy but a great place to go to in Braamfontein.
The employees are very friendly and professional. The food is good and the place is beautiful and chic. Nice place for a group of people. We had a bit of an issue with the entertainer app, but it was resolved.
Food is not great. Ordered chicken wings and got what looked like 5 day old hormone- overloaded chick thighs. Also ordered a chicken wrap the second time around but it was literally falling apart with the sauce dripping all over the place. I feel like this is a nice place to sit for cheap drinks but other than that it's just mediocre.
I just landed back in SA, took the guatrain, to park Station, a 5 minute walk with all my luggage, lol. You could just grab a cab. The place is pretty chilled during the week, the weekend may be pretty busy at times, great atmosphere non the less. Food is well done, great drinks and service.
Our spot then we need to get a quick beer! Always live DJ's vibe is cool....nice and safe...across from bar are other places to chill as well...just a few feet away!
Great place to chill and enjoy your hot or cold beverage with your friends or family. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Craft beers, whiskeys, wines and cocktails are also available. Sidenote: The #Zwakala night light on the wall is super cool. If you are in Braamfontein, this place should be in your bucket list
DONT USE YOUR CREDIT CARD AT THIS PLACE! Despite the good food, you cannot trust the staff. Used my credit card at this place on sunday 21/09/2019. The waiter told it didn't worked so I paid in cash. It was the only place in South Africa where I tried to use it. In the next day someone tried to cash out money 3000 rhands in a machine but my bank blocked. Today someone typed to use it again in a petrostation. My card was cloned. Please think twice before using your credit card at this place. It doesn't worth the stress.
