Went in for an upgrade, and the staff attitude is negative and demeaning. The Customer Service really needs improvement. The general store feel, is crowded and looks like a staff shortage. Eg. One of the staff members complained that they had to collect the phone temselves as there were no more staff at the back. If there was another store in Centurion, I would never have used this branch.
The customer service is not good. The staff basically ignored me even when I was at the counter, I watched more than 4 attendants come in and out of the back room and no one thought to serve me. The person that had just immediately served another customer at the counter before me also left straight afterwards. Eventually someone came back to the counter and asked what I needed. I explained what I was there for, then the person told me to wait while she was checking something. I watched the person go in and out again of the back room and still didn’t come back to me. I eventually left without being served. Improvement is needed regarding customer service.
Warning! Do not replace your iPhone battery at an iStore. On the 3rd of January 2023 we booked a battery replacement at this iStore only to be told after an hour of standing that they no longer have stock and that the last battery has gone to an earlier client after we specifically asked if they have stock Ref CE70671. With no other choice we went to Menlyn iStore. Long story short, they damaged the phone and gave a replacement after 4 working days. We realised that there was a fault with the replacement phone. Calls would drop after 30s to 1min. Well within our warranty we went iStore Brooklyn in March 2023 to have the phone checked. We were told that it must be a software issue or a SIM issue. After trying to sort the issue with our network service provider we had no choice but to insist that that the phone be looked at. On 18 April 2023 we booked the phone at Centurion insisting that the phone be fixed. With a whole lot of time wasting activity and back-and-forth disagreement about the faulty phone. Today 19 May 2023 I received an email stating “ After numerous attempts to get the matter resolved Apple has declined to have the unit replaced in-warranty mostly due to the fact that the unit passes all functional diagnostics.” Did you read that?! They will not replace the phone, because it works in their eyes. The manager and technical assistant confirmed the fault. Knowing a loophole in their argument I said that I would like to have the phone traded in since it passes all diagnostics. They did not like that. They do not want to trade in this phone knowing very well that we brought this issue to them in March. This is what I concluded from iStore since January 2023 They do not take ANY accountability. Premium resellers means that you will spend days to contact Apple support for them. Yes! I had to do the calling. Needless to say they will not replace the phone that they gave me. It is terrible to think that I paid to have these issues. I went from having an iPhone to a NoPhone, just because of iStore. Only the words “We understand” and “Sorry there is nothing we can do” are the responses you get from self proclaimed premium resellers. I will likely get an automated response to this review. I am yet to edit this review if they did reach out.
The ticket system works by you hanging around until someone decides they will help you. Once in the que they have no problem to waste your time. I informed them with my upgrade I do not have my ID there. Instead of telling me it's a requirement they put me in the que just to tell me 2.5 hours later that they need my id. This could have easily been said when I arrived, instead nothing was said. No apologies when confronted about this or anything. There is no respect for customers time in branch Update Went back the next day on their suggestion, still couldn't help me because they cannot connect to my network provider. Strongly suggest anyone to use alternative iStore or network shops.
Came to collect a device I took in for repairs. The wait at the Service counter is long, and other team members who were not too busyare only there for Sales. Disappointing. Slogan should be of “ if you ain’t buying we are not that quick to help!” Edit: time spent approx 45 minutes.
Went to check if they have the iphone 14 pro max at 2pm, they said they have stock but we need to come back the next day because they have other people waiting and each customer takes 1 hour to help. Really? 1 hour for one person?? I went over to Vodacom who has friendly staff and got a new contract in less than 20 minutes.
I have waited a full hour for assistance everywhere with little to no care at all
Upgrading to iPhone13 at the iStore was a disappointing and frustrating experience. My previous upgrade at the Brooklyn Vodashop was a seamless and easy action done while I had lunch but this time I chose the iStore because of their free screen insurance and the promise that they could offer the same contract. My first disappointment was finding that I couldn’t get the same contract offered by Vodashop and had to pay R100 pm more for a larger one which I didn’t really need, but I reluctantly accepted and was told they would transfer all data from my old iPhone 10 and contact me when it was done in a few hours. Half a day later being frustrated by lack of my smartphone and no feedback, I tried to contact the iStore only to find they have no number for public contact. After work I went back to discover that my transfer could not be done unless they deleted all my WhatsApp videos which I found strange because both iPhones had the same size memory - 256 Gigs. I then returned after another day’s wait and received my phone and was disappointed to find many of my settings, ring tones and stored messages had not been transferred to my new phone and my stored Bluetooth connections had been lost. Since then I have twice returned with other issues including loss of access to my iCloud account and loss of ability for even the most basic backup of contacts and settings. The only reason for a 2 star rating rather than 1 star is that one of their technicians was helpful and did his best to rectify my problems. My advice to others is keep your old iPhone going as in my opinion the iPhone 13 offers no significantly noticeable improvement over the iPhone 10, and if you really need a new iPhone rather use the Vodashop
Disappointing service. I know the person assisting me was a Trainee or so I thought, as he didn't have a Trainee badge Could not explain the product. Tried to sell me charger for the MacBook when the Macbook has a charger. Took forever to process the transaction. And didn't ask if I have an eBucks account, so I lost out.
Waiting 30mins in a queue to get on the list. Then you hear about 90mins because you're no 5 in the queue. After the 90mins, you hear you are no 3. Then you leave, get a call after 20mins to say you're no 1 but you can come back in an hour... only to wait until 3hours have passed since you first enetered the store, to see a consultant. They are seriously not built for speed. I don't understand why such a top notch brand don't focus on their service. If I could rate them -10, I would have!
