I have studied Spanish at university level and could not speak the language. I started studying with Slade at the Spanish academy and have learnt more studying with Slade than I ever did studying 3 years of university Spanish. Slade has a unique style of teaching Spanish. He understands the method of teaching a language to English speaking students and his passion and enthusiasm is clearly felt in his classes. You will be speaking Spanish in a few short weeks if you follow his technique. If you are thinking about studying Spanish, then this is the place to be. I highly recommend Slade and The Spanish Academy
I started Spanish lessons with Slade in June this year and within a very short time was actually able to speak Spanish. Slade is a very inspiring teacher who constantly motivates his students. I find the voice notes to be a very helpful tool in the learning process. The classes are fun with lots of laughs and insights into the Spanish speaking countries and the different ways of communicating. I would recommend these classes to anyone who wants to learn quickly in a fun and relaxed environment.
Joining the Spanish Academy for lessons is hands down one of the best decisions I've ever made. Slade has made this language so accessible. If learning Spanish was made any easier it would be cheating.I love his approach to teaching and his positive, encouraging and nurturing nature. He is a teacher and a mentor to all his students. Spanish classes are an absolute highlight in my week. If you are looking to learn Spanish I cannot possibly recommend Slade and The Spanish Academy more!
Taking Spanish classes here has been one the best things I have ever done. Slade is the epitome of someone who does something they were meant to do, he is an excellent teacher! I thoroughly enjoyed the three months of the beginner’s course, looked forward to every session. The quality of the content and methodology of teaching got me so excited to travel to a Spanish speaking nation and test it out! I highly recommend this school; I for one can’t wait to start the advanced course :
This was an excellent course! I can truly reccomend this class to anyone that would like to learn Spanish. Slade is a naturally gifted teacher that not only makes the course entertaining but brings out the best from his students. Learning a new language certainly seems like a mountain to climb but by trusting and buying into Slade's teaching process, the task is very possible. My sister and I had a phenomenal experience and were extremely surprised by how much we retained and could speak after the beginners course. We cannot wait for the advanced course!
I took private lessons with Slade a few months prior to moving to Central America. Slade is an outstanding teacher and has developed an excellent method of teaching. He knows exactly how the brain works with languages. I was fortunate to have started my spanish language journey with Slade because his lessons lay a strong foundation for my further learning of the language now that I live in Central America. I highly recommend anyone who's interested in learning Spanish to go with The Spanish Academy South Africa!
Slade's method of teaching Spanish has made it possible for me to grasp the foundations. He also makes the learning experience fun and motivates his students. He is approachable and goes the extra mile to ensure his students are comfortable with new concepts introduced. I highly recommend taking his beginners course!
